T.K.
You can usually buy discount tickets on base even when no promotion is running.
Edit - Go now. There will be great photo ops with the whole family.
We live in GA and found out about a great military discount for Disney World that we would like to use. The promotion runs until Sept. 2012 and the tickets are at a $100 discount! The only catch for us is that our son will not even be 2 years old when the promotion ends. We know that we FOR SURE want to go to Disney World before we have to move again ( we have no idea when that will be), but our son will be too young to really appreciate it if we go so we can use the promotion. Does anyone know if these promotions come up every year, or is it something special for now only, and if we don't go during this promotion period, we will miss our chance?

Thank you for your service to our country. Being military is never easy.
These events and promotions go on every year. They proudly support our military.
There are promotions all the time.
You can call in advance and ask what the discount for active duty military is. I know they had this promotion last year and the year before - there was one special one a few years ago where they opened the park to military only. Our friends who lived in Florida and are AD - went and loved it!!!
Many parks offer a military discount. Call and check before you go.
Thank you for your service and sacrifices to our country!!
This wouldn't be the first promotion. I know of several in the past. But, really if you want to go, you should go. Going once when he is 2 doesn't mean you won't be able to go again.
Also, check out Shades of Green the resort for military families at disney. The price of rooms is on a sliding scale based on rank and as a guest you get to enter the park earlier than others and leave later.
It changes every year, but there is always something. This past year the deal was 4-day passes for 1 park per day for $100 each. You need to check with your local Force Support Squadron (FSS) in their Information, Tickets & Travel office (ITT) & they can give you a ton of information. You can also call Shades of Green which is the Military resort located in Disney World for info, but I've found you can get better deals from your local office.
