1) Another vote for real sudafed (pseudoephedrine hcl) & tylenol as the over the counter option.

2) A shot (or pill) of imatrex from the doctor's office

Excedrin, btw, is just tylenol & caffeine ... Excedrin migraine is tylenol, asprin, and caffeine

I use to get them while pregnant with #2. They wouldn't give me anything "strong" while pregnant. My Dr. told me to take 2 Bayer Asprin and drink a can of WARM COCA~ COLA ( has to be warm and has to be coke!!) in 15mins. I thought he was crazy, but was desprate... now that is the only thing I use when I get a migraine. I hope you feel better soon!!

REAL Sudafed, that you have to ask the pharmacist for. AND excedrin migraine, that'll do it!

:)

Sudafed with Pseudoephedrine.
it is behind the pharmacy counter, you have to ask for it.
Non-drowsy, 12-hour.
For sinus problems.

If you have a sinus 'infection' best to go to the Doctor. Or it can get worse. Sinus problems take awhile to go away, completely.

Also try flushing your sinuses with a Neti Pot. Nasal rinse.

My Husband does all of that, plus taking Claritin, for his Sinus problems. For which he is prone to.

BC powder and a coke. Only combo that has ever worked for me.

Go to a dark, quiet room and sleep!!
If you can't do that then try ice. It will help to numb the pain and slow the blood flow which helps to ease the pounding feeling you're getting. Excedrin migraine only works for me if I can catch it early but its worth trying.
Good luck ~ migraines suck!

Hi D.,

My husband's silver bullet is 1/4 teaspoon benadryl (children's liquid is all that works) and two Excedrin Migraine. He's had migraines all his life and this is the only thing that will stop it from getting unbearable.....that being said, there is new research that says people who have enough calcium in their diet don't get migraines. That fits into my husband's pattern of forgetfulness.. When he takes his vitamins (absorbable multivitamin with a calcium complex) he never gets any headaches. I never put two and two together until this research was published a few months ago.

Be careful about taking a calcium supplement. Some don't absorb and some are simply dangerous. Research and investigate before diving in. I can recommend one if you like.

Hope this helps!

You need to get to the doctor because it sounds like a sinus infection. For migraines, I actually get them chronically and have ever since I was a child (thanks Mom and Dad). When I feel one coming on I take a couple of Advil Liquid Gels because aspirin and Tylenol are a joke. I can't take Aleve because of other medications I'm on, and I hate the amount of caffeine in Excedrin and Excedrin Migraine (not to mention Excedrin products don't work for me). I drink a few glasses of water to make sure I'm hydrated. I try to lay down and dim the lights.

If that doesn't work, I take an Imitrex and sit in the shower with hot water pounding down on the back of my head and neck for 15 minutes and then dry off and go back to bed. The Imitrex makes it easier for me to sleep and cuts off a serious migraine. I have to take it as soon as I start to get ocular signs of a migraine.

But I take a daily prophylactic aka Topomax to handle the frequency and intensity.

An awesome massage: head, neck and shoulders! I do them every couple of weeks to keep them away but they work great when there is a blazing one going. Good luck!!
