I was under midwife care w/ my son (15months) through the birth center in chapel hill and would recommend it to anyone, everyone. i ended up transferring to UNC hospitals for a vac assist, but i was totally ok with it and was able to labor at the birth center as long as possible. i think they cannot do vbacs on site, but they may be able to provide care and deliver you in the hospital (the midwives have practicing privileges at UNC hospital), or they might refer you to UNC family physicians, I have also heard wonderful things about Ami. Definitely second the doula recommendation, there are a few who do specialize in vbacs...the birth center has a list of doulas i think. Edited to add: congrats! and go you for trying for a vbac!
