I am considering having micro dermabrasion on my face. Just wondering if anyone has had the procedure and what are the pros and cons. Was the experience positive?

What can I do next?

I had some pretty serious adult acne. Went for about four microdermabrasion treatments (about 10 years ago) and it's never gotten as bad as it once was. (I still have the breakout related to my cycle, but there's not much to do about that outside of medication.)

The procedure was just this side of painful. LIke when your back is itchy and someone scratches it almost to the point of hurting. They are removing layers of bothersome skin to let the new, fresh and unblemished stuff shine. And shine, it does!

Make certain to follow the protocol they give you for cleansing and moisturizing. Truth be told, the package of product cost almost as much as the treatment, but so worth it.

After your skin gets to where you'd like it, you can maintain with a regular at-home ritual and the occasional facial. (I like my facials to be about one-half clinical, one-half relaxing. That's my preference.)

I love it. I don't have sensitive skin, so I can't comment on that aspect (if there is one), but I do know that they should stay away from the sides of your nose, or you could sustain some broken capillary damage. Anyway, it makes your face really soft and brightens your complexion. I also purchased this inexpensive home system recently, and I love, love, love it.

It's like CRACK. You'll be addicted.

I DREAM of my next treatments. Facials are a JOKE after getting micro done. The results are amazing. It'll sting like a sunburn (it goes away in a few hours) but in a week you'll have the best glow and you'll look great.

It's $$$$$ well spent!

I'm considering it for acne scars so I am hoping someone answers as to whether it helped that or not. I saw a Groupon type deal for around $40, but I'm waiting to see if it reduces scarring at all.

A long and painful recovery. I wouldn't do it or recommend it to my worst enemy.

I've taken care of two people who had this done and did not see the BIG difference promised. Also very costly.

Blessings....
