Playa del Carmen...is is wonderful and we went last year June 4th. We've stayed at the Grand Porto Real and the Royal Porto Real and they were great! Good Luck!

Check out Occidental in Cozumel. It is a great all inclusive resort and has kids programs. We spent about a week there in March.

We just planned a trip to Cabo last night!
We are going to the Presidente Intercontinental. We've been there before (2 yrs ago) and thought it was pretty good for an all inclusive resort and you can go to Cabo Wabo and do some shopping in the little towns. We are all about pools on our vacations, don't really need the beach. The beach here is not swimmable.
We are so excited! We are going in June!
For 3 adults and one infant it was right at $3000 with airfare.
let me know if you want to know anything else!

Playa del Carmen is gorgeous. They have an area called Playacar that is made up of tons of very nice resorts. We got married at the Riu Palace there 5 years ago and are headed back this July to celebrate our anniversary. There's another resort called the Iberostar that's really cool too. I always use Joyride Travel and so far she's had great resort recommendations. www.joyridetravel.com

Having lived in Mexico in college, I would suggest going in June rather than May. May is still considered the "dry" season and can be hot and miserable. June is the transition to the "rainy" season. That doesn't mean it rains constantly. That just means every night (around dinner time) there might be a small shower or two that will help cool down the temperature. This is also when the flowers are at their prettiest. If you want a touristy vacation, then definitely go for the resorts in popular beach towns. If you're looking for an authentic Mexico experience, go inland a bit. Cities in the tropical areas, like Cuernavaca, are gorgeous in the summer and provide a very authentic experience. They call Cuernavaca the city of Eternal Spring for a reason. :)

Puerto Vallarta was wonderful a few years ago when we went...more authentic and great beaches.

I second Occidental in Cozumel. Also, the Wyndham in Cozumel is highly recommended. It is family friendly and has a buffet restaurant to satisfy most cravings. :)
