M.S.
It's 7:30 here and the kids are still asleep. I'm the one who got up early! I never could sleep in Christmas morning, no matter how old I get! I guess I get too excited.
No lumps of coal needed here.
Merry Christmas!
I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Hope you and yours are healthy and happy!
May God Bless us with the full knowledge of the significance of the Birth of Christ.
So, did little ones get you up early?
Did wrapping paper fly and could you get the plastic off? Did you forget the batteries?
Did someone need a lump of coal?
It's still quite at my house. Ah, the joys of older kids.

A merry Christmas to you too!
Kiddo woke at four with a cough, so I co-slept with him for the last three (very interrupted) hours, with him hugging my neck. He's a better sleeper at six than he was when he was younger, he actually covered his coughs! Our morning is a pleasant one and I'll be surely retiring for a couple hours this afternoon to get a little rest.
The silver lining in this disrupted sleep is that, when he gets older, he won't need me like this any more.
And he's attacked the stocking so far, but now we're having a tea and oatmeal break to stave off the grumpies later. :) We are all in good spirits, tho!
For those who celebrate-- enjoy the day!
Merry Christmas!
All presents were opened and paper everywhere by 7:05AM :) Fun times.
Merry Christmas! Kids woke at their normal time, but baby was up every hour all night! Poor thing had a reaction to her second flu shot.
Im amazed by the speed they can unwrap all the presents. My oldest barely came up for air between presents. I spend months preparing for this morning, and it's over in a blink. It's just weird.
Everyone is happy, including me: I make homemade cinnamon buns once a year, and I ate two this morning!
Same thing with me! With older kids, it's so much easier. We're watching A Christmas Story (Ralphie and "You'll shoot your eye out!") and as soon as it's over, we'll open gifts.
Love the part when they chop off the duck's head!!
Merry Christmas!!
Nope..if my 11 year old has his way - he'd still be sleeping!! LOL!!
I woke up before anyone else!! :)
No batteries needed this year..at 11 & 13 - it's more like XBOX and the like..like your home..my boys are enjoying their XBOX games!!
Christ is Born!! Glorify Him!! May God bless your home as well!
Still quiet here - daddy's sleeping (not feeling well) and our son has a lot of patience so we'll be opening presents soon :)
Merry Christmas!
My son got up at about 7:30.
I'm finding that my Christmas stress level is directly proportional to the age of my child. At 10? It's like butt-uh! (Some encouragement to those with very little ones.)
O. of the best Christmases ever!
HoHoHo!!!
Merry Christmas a day late!
We started ours out with a wonderful church service on Christmas eve. When we came home, I set the table for the next day's dinner. It made life much easier on Christmas morning, and neither of the cats napped on the dinner plates.
We had two of our children and their families here, plus SIL's parents and sister - thirteen in all. That's a lower number than usual, because one child lives too far away and one child and family chose to celebrate Christmas where they live. It's always an adventure, in our little house, to seat everybody so that they can all be close enough to talk - which is always their seating request. Sardine city!
The youngest person was almost three; the oldest person was, well, never mind. Suffice it to say that the oldest person supervised the youngest person at dinner, as a Christmas gift to his parents so they could talk to everybody else.
My husband and I didn't have to worry about getting up early (well, no earlier than the dog gets up) because the company didn't start arriving until noon. We have Christmas dinner in the early afternoon and then open the tree presents.
The present-opening was a free-for-all. We ended up with two HUGE trash bags of wrapping paper and paper ribbons. Everybody was happy, even the middle-schooler. The younger the person, the more the loot, of course. Nobody got any coal. I won't say nobody deserved any coal. But we all had decided to be gracious!
I'm worn out today (and will deliberately take a day or two to put all the fancy table things away), but it was well worthwhile. Here's to Christmas! May it come back next year!
Merry Christmas! It was a great day. Kids were up at 7 ready to go. I just love this time of year.
Joy to the world the Lord is come!
