We're trying to eat healthier, eat cheaper and eat at home more often. My husband and I want to plan a weekly menu and stick to it. Are there any cookbooks or free web sites out there that help with weekly menus that take advantage of leftover ingredients from other recipes so we're not wasting too much? We have the kids 1/2 of every week so kid-friendly stuff would be ideal. Can't figure out the search words that let me locate anything!

Weight Watchers has a recipe series called "Cook Once, Eat All Week" and you can access the recipes on their website:

That's the only one I know of that specifically addresses using leftovers. Good luck!

This is the best web site. This the sign up page to get e-mails w/new receipt ideas and all kinds of things. I love it! We have also been trying to save and eat healthier. After each meal, what ever is left over, I separate into individual meals. I can't believe how much we eat in left overs now. Before I'd just put it into tupper wear and in a few days end up throwing it away. My husband will sometimes take what I have separated to work for lunch the next day. So every Saturday, I make a list of the meals for the week and then go to the grocery store for the week. It has worked great and we are saving money doing it too.
