I have a question and I was wondering if any of you females have had this happen and why. Ive heard this is normal but I've never had this happen. I started my period about two week before xmas (normal period), and lasted about 4 days (they usually only last four days). Then on Christmas I started again and have been on ever since. It wasn't a heavy or normal period. On christmas it seemed like a usual first day period flow and now very very very light. Never had this happen. Should I be concerned? Anyone else have this happen?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I will be 39 in February. Not too old but not too young!

How old are you?
Sometimes as we reach perimanapause our periods get really crazy. I have had them last 3 weeks, no breaks. But it would lighten up then start heavy again.

Hi
At 39, your cycle can definitely begin to change. About that time, mine definitely got heavier.. although still remained the same in length. I am now 48, and when I first had that initial drop in Estrogen (around 41 I'd say) boy oh boy, did my cycle begin to change.... Could be your body had a slight shift in your hormones... and thus, changed up your cycle a bit...
you won't know for sure, unless you had your hormone levels checked.. 39 isn't too young to begin perimenopause.. on the other hand.... fibroids will also cause interim bleeding and or other things.. maybe, if your cycle doesn't go back to "normal" then go to the docs..

good luck to you

This could be a case of a uterine polyp or fibroid. Nothing to panic about, but I would get this checked out, just to rule out the (small) chance of a malignant growth.

How old are you? Have you had any recent gynecological changes in your life, like recently stopped breastfeeding, recently pregnant, recent miscarriage, recent change in birth control? Is it possible you are pregnant and not having periods but pregnancy-related bleeding? Have you ever been diagnosed with a fibroid? Are you going through a lot of stress right now, like a death in the family, divorce, etc? There are so many reasons this could happen, most of them simple and benign. But if you are concerned you should discuss it with you doctor.
P.S. Obviously I am not asking you to answer these questions here, just giving you things to think about. I wish you the best.
