Unlike you, I had problems most of my life, but after my tubal things went crazy! The Dr. wanted to put me back on the pill, which I refused. I finally saw a Dr. in a bigger city and had a hysterectomy and have been wonderful ever since.
I got a tubal after my son was born in 1995 and they have gotten so bad with depression that I don't want the next period to come. The Drs just say I am getting older but I don't know what to think. I get really down, I take what people say out of text, I have night mares, I think the worst senerios. I almost pass out, I freeze for two weeks. Any one else have this???
I thank everyone who responded and I am so glad I am not alone. I plan on getting a new Dr. and going from there. I am not fond of anti-depressants bc I have went that route and I missed alot of time with my children bc the meds made me sleep and gave me no energy. I'd like a quick cure but I know to live one day at a time now. I thank all of you.

Hi C.. I had crazy symptoms after my tubal in 97. I was looked at for Post Tubal Syndrome (PTS) It's something doctors rarely ever consider unless you bring it up and sometimes push for it. I suggest googling PTS and maybe bringing the info to your doctor to discuss options. PTS can be a serious condition and it is treatable! You've gotten some great advice here, I hope you find something that helps.
Hello C.,
I know how you feel...I had a tubal to and ever since,..my hormaones have gone nuts! I went back and forth jumping around on all kinds of birth control, bled like crazy, wanted to cry or rip spmeones head off, I felt like I was going crazy. I started taking meds though, PMDD was my issue. I honestly didnt know if my relationship was going to make it, I was a nightmare to live with..I once got so angry because a mand was speeding through a parking lot that I jumped out into the street and started hitting his car, I was so upset! I knew I wasnt my usual self, normally I am very laid back...I started taking the generic version of Prozac and I am a changed person. I still get aggitated from time to time, but I have my sanity back! If your doctor wont consider giving you anything for your imbalance, I would suggest asking another dr. Good luck, its not easy being a woman is it???
WOW! i thought i was the only one! I have talked to many doctors and they all tell me the same thing, " you are just getting older". Have they checked your horomones? or even your thyroid? how about your iron? I recently found out my thyroid isnt working as it should and they are blaming the period problems on that. I have been on some meds for about two months, havent really notices a change but they keep adjusting my meds every time I have blood drawn. The best thing i can say is ask them to draw your blood while you are on you period and experiencing the symptoms.
Hang in there, i know how you feel!
Hi C., I hate to hear what you've been going through. Hormones are the pits! I do know of a few people that have been in situations that are similar to you and one girl was put on anti depressents. They have started something natural that has changed their whole situation. It seems we aren't suppose to do any advertising so I'll leave it at that and if you want info on it you can email me I'll give you the name and way to get more info on it. Good luck I'll be praying for you! ____@____.com

Sounds to me like your having anxiety attacks. I would recommend you talk seriously to your doctor about this. He may recommend an anti depressent like Zoloft. I also deal with these issues and they seem to highten when we get our periods due to elevated hormone levels. Hope this helps.

Hi C.,
I feel for you because I have a very good friend who went through the same thing. She thought she was dying. I know what she did to solve it but it was without medications - she allowed her body to heal itself. I'd love to share it with you. How about off site? ____@____.com
It seems to me that you aren't bieng taken seriously enough. Depression is a true medical issue and if your telling your docs, they should be doing something about it. I feel that it's time for you to seek another opinion. This is not something that you have to live with! It's 2007 and time for antiquated ideas like these to be tossed out the window!!!!
I hope this helps, I'm going on what I've seen my mother go through. She started pre-menopause in her mid 30's with similar symptoms. The dr's put her on anti-depressants. She takes a daily pill and has an anxity pill to take occasionally for really bad days. I would talk to your dr about getting on at least an anti-depressant. The most important thing with anti-depressants is if he prescribes one and it doesn't seem to work or you are having side effects that you don't like, let him know asap. There are soo many different kinds out there and each person is different. They will start you on a lower dose and if it isn't working they will usually just increase the dose unless you tell them everything.
I think your doctors should be able to do something for you. Maybe prescribe some anti-depressants or some hormones to help with all these symptoms. You should NOT have to be going through all of this. If he can't help - find a different doctor with some compassion. Good luck dear and I hope you find some relief.
Hi C.,
My name is C. and im 31 and I had always had problems with my period and so after my second child i also had a tubal and I have battled depression since my first was born to where i cant get off the couch I dont have as much problems as you do but I also have had a hysterectomy and tho they didnt take my ovaries im having problems with them now and not sure what to do about it... if you need to talk you can contact me through yahoo messenger..behindthesehazeleyes75 I would be glad to listen and offer any help I can
I completely understand. I take my Zoloft everyday just to keep myself in check. I take 50 mg every day except during my PMS time when I take 100mg a day. You are not alone, look into medication...it really is a big help. Good Luck.
I'm not sure, but it sounds like we are experiencing the same symptoms! I also have had the depression and the nightmares, and wondering what is up with all this. But I did track most of the symptoms to 'period' timing. I spoke to a female nurse I know and she suggested getting a checkup with an gyn, I just posted about this.
Let me know if you find anything out, I would be interested.
Thanks,
T
I think you are looking for help from someone who has experienced what you are going through and I have not had your experience. One of my friends recently went to the Doctor with complaints of being off sorts around her menstral cycle and prior to her appointment she recearched PMDD and took a little quiz about it. When she went to the Doctor he put her on some anti-depresents and now she feels human again. Also, I personally think some Doctors dismiss womens preblems and complaints as whinning and we need to pull up our boot straps, so to speak. I would look up PMDD on Web MD or a simular cite and see if that might help you when consulting with a Doctor.
So Sorry for your Pain
