Give her the stuff you have. If it were more than 14 days, I would say no- but you are just at 10 days. Its still good.

I think it would be okay to give her the dose that you already have and then use the new stuff tomorrow. My personal opinion.

I believe the 10 day expiration is just because the meds become less effective each day (that's why they don't mix the dry with the liquid until you are actually there to pick it up). So giving him the "old" stuff shouldn't hurt him - it just won't be as effective as freshly mixed meds.

Call your doctor first, but I believe 10 days is how long your daughter should take the medicine. If she hasn't gotten better in 10 days, then her doctor might want to see her again and prescribe something stronger. Make sense?

My boy has frequent ear infections and has been on augmentin a few times and there have been occaisions where we gave him doses just after 10 days and he was fine. Of course, I am no doctor and he is not your daughter so it is up to you if you take this info under consideration :-).

There is always some lee way in "pull" dates. Use the stuff you have now. Even if it were older than 10 days the worst that would happen is that it would be ineffective. And....it will effective after just 10 days.

I'd suggest you call either the pharmacist or doctor to ask what's "magic" about the 10 day mark. Pharmacists are usually easier to get hold of by phone and can answer a question like this -- even if they didn't actually fill the Rx.

I would give her what you have tonight and just pick up the new one tomorrow. Worst case scenario is the dose you give her tonight is not effective at all although I'm sure it is maybe not full strength but its better then nothing.
