I went to the doctor yesterday to get a refill of my blood pressure pills. The last time I went to the doctor I told him about a little pocket on the sides of my calfs and he gave me Ibuprofen to see if it would help, so I checked with a doctor at my school and he told me it was vericose veins so I told the doctor yesterday and he prescribed this medication so I am kinda worried because one says it will put your blood pressure and the other one said it would put it down. Here are the meds he gave me beside my blood pressure meds. Piroxicam 20mg 1 time a day, methocarbamol 500 mg a day at bedtime. I read the side affects so I am wondering if I should take them.
Go to your Pharmacy... and ask the Pharmacist.... not his helpers... the Pharmacist.
AND call your Doc back... and tell him....
speak with your pharmacist they will have the best advice on side effects and what can and should not be taken together.
I would talk to your pharmacist...he/she is the one who can give you the best advice on this. I work in a pharmacy and I know that a lot of the side effects that are listed on the literature that comes with the medications are just there for legal reasons...and to protect the producer from liability...the chances of the sides effects actually happening might be very slim...but they still have to mention them.
Your Pharmacist has gone to school for a LONG time to learn all about the interactions and side effects of drugs...he/she is the one who can answer your questions.
God bless the doc's but they really don't know squat about medications. Talk to your pharmacist and take all your meds with you when you do. If you don't feel like they listened to you then go to a different one. I did have one at Wal-Greens that I swear went to bubblegum school to get his degree. He totally didn't listen to me and basically told me I was being silly to even ask questions.
My pharmacist catches all kinds of things. If I can't take a certain medication because the base has sulfa in it or if it is bad for other meds I might be taking.
