Hi Mama's! I have a friend who is letting me borrow her Medella Pump In Style Pump. My doctor said this was safe to use as long as I got new parts. What do I all need? Shields and tubing? Are they sold together? Where can I purchase this?

TIA

What can I do next?

Nipple Shields & Adapters are usually sold together
Yellow Valves & the little white flaps on the valves
Tubing

I got my replacement parts on Amazon.com.
My hospital also provided parts to use with their Medela Symphony pump while in the hospital. It was compatible with the pump in style. It's nice to have 2 sets of nipple shields, adapters & valves, so if one set is ready to wash, you have a set that's clean & ready to go.

I agree to purchase them @ your local Lactation center or first Days clinic it is usually located in the hospital take the pump with you so for they can match they parts to your style of pump, they are cheaper I purchased my pump there for $250.00 a bit pricey but if something happened to it I knew I was covered. With the pump itself use alchol as a disinfectant go all over it really well. You'll need everything new.
I see you live in Topeka Stormont Vail has a breastfeeding clinic down the hall from the L&D rooms they will come to your room after delivery or next day & answer any ?'s you may have & help with latching on etc.St.Francis has breastfeeding clinic they will also come to your room to assist you with latching on correctly/First days clinic it is located in the Mulvance builiding 1st floor they will se tyou up by appt. before you leave the hospital you can purchase parts bras & all you need at either place.Have a good delivery, don'y know where you go for OB care but I love TOGA!!!

Go to your local lactation center. Get new tubes, valves and horns/flanges, whatever. While you are there, get fitted so you buy the right size for your body (big or small chested has little to do with what size you need. I needed to go up a size and I'm not big). My lactation center was much more reasonably priced than the store or online.

I bought my replacement parts "kit" at Babies R Us but they don't sell tubing - I actually had trouble finding it and finally located it at a local medical supply place. Target also carries them (online, at least), but you'll still need to get tubing. The previous poster's suggestion will probably be easier and cheaper.

Our hospital provided all the pieces I needed. It would be a bummer if they gave it to you (as a part of your stay and covered by ins.) and you bought it.

I had both of my daughters at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO and used one of their pumps while there instead of packing mine up there. They gave me all of that stuff! Not sure where you'll have your baby but you might check with the hospital.

I just had a baby in August and I told the lactation consultant at the hospital that a friend had given me her Medella Pump in Style Advanced that she'd just bought last year and used like 5 times. The LC then brought me all new pieces to go with the pump. She also brought a hand pump, but I haven't opened it. Like Laura S. said, the parts were for the Medella Symphony but they work with my Pump in Style. I'd contact the LC's at your hospital and ask them before purchasing new ones. I'm also still using the parts that came with the pump since I have to pump twice a day and I don't want to have to wash the parts at work! I honestly don't know where the harm lies if everything (except the pump itself) can be sterilized! Maybe someone else can fill me in on that part???

I found a kit at Babies R Us that had all the plastic parts: tubing, valves, flanges, and 2 bottles. Over time, when I had pieces go bad (dropped a valve and it chipped, etc), I found replacement parts individually at the lactation center that was located in the hospital where I gave birth.
