How long do these last?I have had mine for 5 yrs.I think it is losing suction so i'll need to get it checked at the bfing clinic.I did change the tubing and all of it is correctly put in place I can hear the swosshing sound as it is coiming out from the motor attachment part,played with the settings but still the same i'm able to pump just unsure how long they last.I know I have gotten my money out of it
Yes I have bought all new parts changed them periodically it is clean i'll just have to takee it in,hubby had noticied it sounded off so something must be wrong with it...Thanks
Have you replaced the membrane on the pump itself? I don't think you can buy these commercially, but Medela will ship them to you for free, if I recall correctly. It's rather finicky to put back in, but doable with a bit of patience.
I got mine from off of Freecycle from a woman who had three children (I know, probably a no-no, but I bought new tubes and bottles...) and I used mine for about a year or so before passing it along. Five years on that sort of a machine sounds pretty good to me!
I used mine for both of my babies (4 years apart) with my sister using it in between for her twins. We threw it out a few weeks ago because we are finished with it and it doesn't "owe us anything"... changed all of the changeable "parts" and it still worked, but it seemed like the motor was going to give out.
I would guess that Medella would be the best resource for this question! Give them a call and see what they say.
As long as the motor is still running you can probably repair it. It may need a new diaphragm/faceplate...the materials can break down over time and small defect will result in a loss of vacuum/suction.

I used my pump hard for 2 years and it still seems to be ok. I do remember sometimes the little white membane that goes on the yellow piece at the base of the thing that goes on your breast would get torn or not be seated correctly and then the pump would not suction right.
