I know how you feel! By about 7 months my first child was done with baby food in jars, and my second was done by 8 or 9 months.
I always felt like their meal selections were pretty boring.
Pretty much, you can serve him whatever you're eating, just cut it in small pieces. Only thing we were told to avoid is meat until at least 9 months. I think we waited until close to one year before introducing meat. Then it was only very soft meats, like shredded pieces of chicken, and cut up lunch meats (either Applegate Farms brand from the deli, or the "all natural" packaged kind from Hormel -- no salt or nitrates in them).
Pasta was always a favorite -- Mac and Cheese (of course) but also plain thin spaghetti (or angel hair). As a "first foods" ritual I got out the camera before piling spaghetti noodles on the high chair tray, then snapped away as the little darlings explored their way through it. It was always great, edible fun.
The possibilities are endless with steamed and canned veggies. Broccoli (steamed), carrots (steamed or canned), black beans (canned), rice (make it so it's sticky), asparagus, squash/zuccini (steamed).
You can expand your fruit options as well. Both of mine love mango (only when it's in season) and kiwi. Canned mandarin oranges are good too.
Hope this helps!
