Like a lot of you (probably). I get tired of feeding my 22 month old the same thing...day after day...after day. On the one hand, some pediatricians tell you don't worry about it but on the other hand I think I do it because I know it's something he'll eat and we don't have to have a two hour eating session. I need ideas for quick and easy meals and snacks that you have used for breakfast/lunch/and dinner--especially lunch and dinner. WE have no problems with pancakes and oatmeal!

What can I do next?

My advice is to feed him what you eat. My twins love feta cheese, olives, tomatoes, brocolli, meat, fish, peas, carrots, walnuts etc. I serve them a little of everything and they can ask for more of anything. If they don't like what is on their plate they are not forced to eat it but not offered anything else or snacks in between. When they see you eating the same healthy food that they are eating they will try it. It is a big mistake to make your child different food or to feed him hot dogs and chicken nuggets because it is easier now. You will end up with a 5 year old who only eats hot dogs and chicken nuggets! Also - make sure you offer a variety of textures - sometimes kids just don't like crunchy or mushy or smooth and it has more to do with the texture than the taste. Hope this helps - I made my mistakes with the older one and it is so much easier with the twins!

I would recommend siging up for the Food and Family magazine at www.kraftfoods.com. It's free and comes about every 3 months. It has some super easy but really tasty ideas that my 17 month old has enjoyed. Of course, the recipes call for Kraft products but you can use whatever brands you want. They have alot of recipes there on the website too.

Here is one of my son's favorite carrot recipes:

My daughter is 18 months. She likes sweet potatoes - I just heat them up in the microwave. Pasta with cheese almost always works. I usually keep frozen peas and corn and heat them up. She also really likes spinach if I cook it up with pears and then puree them together.

hello,
yes, at this age they get picky. i make my 2 1/2 yr. old son smoothies every morning. i put fresh fruit, yogurt and oj in a blender and he is set all day. for lunch he LOVES grilled cheese. i usually microwave this to keep out butter. also peanut butter on celery, carrots w/ ranch. he enjoys pasta w/ marinara sauce, chicken, rice, cous cous. he eats pretty much what i make for lunch or dinner. but he does have his favorites. i hope this helps...let me know if you need more ideas???

thanks and good luck :)
