Does anyone have a favorite meal coordination website (ie new baby, illness, death, community function) ? I know of Foodtidings and CaringMeals. What is your favorite and why?

CLARIFICATION: I am going to co-chair a committee that coordinates meals, assistance etc for a school community. There are websites out there that make the task easier by streamlining the process such simplfying communication with volunteers, setting up a schedule, sharing updates, meal preferences etc. I am looking for people that are familiar with these sites and can offer a personal recommendation.

What can I do next?

My friend who is going through cancer treatment has a site that her family set up through "Lotsa Helping Hands". They have set up a daily meal delivery calendar. It states which days are taken, which are available and who and what people are bringing. You can see the whole calendar for each month. It also lists the family's food preferences. I think it's a great site!!

Our mom's club uses

http://www.carecalendar.org/

I don't have any experience with being the administrator of it, one mom in the club has always taken care of setting it up each time we need it. But it is very simple to use as a user. We receive an email any time there is a birth, etc. It has the calendar ID and security code in it for the mom in need (I believe she sends the emails from the website, but I'm not sure). You just put those in and the calendar comes up with all the days that are needed. Then I can input what I am bringing on the day that I want to take care of. The mom is able to access it and see what is coming for dinner, and she can also input personal preferences and allergies in the notes, so we know not to do spicy or that someone is allergic to dairy. We only use it for meals, but I know it can be used for things like help around the house/yardwork, etc. It seems very user friendly on our end as the users.

Go to that website. It is the most streamlined easy to use site out there. I have been on both ends of the meal plan. Both as a recipient when I was undergoing chemo and again when I was coordinating it for a friend having twins. good luck.

I went and bought a "Toddler Cook Book" I can not remember the exact name bc i left it at my moms house, but it has over 100 easy recipes, all sorted by age starting at six months and at each stage it suggests what to give your child, how much, and when. it was a great help to me! I got mine at Books a million.

you mentioned community function, nearly every city has a mommy group for stay at home moms, just type in your city and + mommy groups
