Hi. wanting to try the master cleanse. any advice?? is the salt water flush necessary and will this help with a bit of weight loss?
I have a pdf-not sure how to attach or share with you (lengthy) about it and the reasons why one needs to do all the steps (including the salt water).
I have done it about 3 times (7, 10, and 12days). Weight loss - sure, yes it happens - about a lb a day once its over, which is EXTREMELY quick -therefore, if you serious I would also recommend doing strength training to build muscle because of how quickly you are losing the fat. Its a cleanse and should be considered as such - the salt water or laxative tea are necessary to get the toxins out of our body (at least twice a day).
If you treat as a quick fix diet - it will work as such, meaning - you weight will eventually come back (with more maybe) if you haven't changed other habits in your life. Really think about what you are willing to do AFTER the cleanse - exericse, eating habits, etc. Or else - it will be temporary.
Just be mentally ready (don't cheat w/gum chewing or any other foods) - you need to stick with it, including the salt water and/or tea. Miminum 7 days, but most would say 10 days and then its about 2 more days of weeding off of it.
For a busy/work schedule I found it easy to make my bottle of juice all in the morning to take to work throughout the day, instead of bring the supplies with me and make it each time i was thirsty.
best of luck
I've done this cleanse a few times, and have had great results. It definitely isn't for everyone. I didn't do it to lose weight, more to "cleanse" my system. I tend to get backed up and gassy, and I found the cleanse helped with that. I did do the salt water flush, and I think it works well, just don't stray to far from a bathroom and drink it with a straw.
I don't agree with the woman about not chewing gum. I would have gone CRAZY if I did not have something to chew on. It is definitely one of the tougher things I've done in my life, but so worth it. I did lose 8-10 lbs, but like I said, that wasn't my purpose. Personally I think the first 4-5 lbs. is water weight anyone. Good luck and send me a message if you have any other questions.
i did it, in 2007, i did it for 10 days. I never did the salt cleanse, but i drank the teas. It worked just fine, i lost 20 lbs on it. I blogged it, ill send you the link.
its not a diet though, its a detox
