Hello Ladies,
My son is nearly 21 months old, and I still have evidence of "the mask". Anyone else have this problem, and if so, any suggestions or solutions?
Thanks for your time!

There are lots of products on the market that deal with this, but some in the dept stores are very expensive. Mary Kay has one that is more reasonably priced and has a money-back guarantee if for some reason it doesn't work for you. You can find a consultant who carries it in the Mom Owned businesses on this site. Hope that helps!
I did the IPL (intense pulse light). It not only got rid of all the the brown it made me look years youger! Topicals that include AHA's or glycols will make it worse over time due to sun exposure.

Hi L., My youngest is 21 months, too! I saw a dermatoligist about another issue, and asked about "the mask" and he gave me some skin bleaching cream (hydroquinone 4%). It worked great - I have no more brown patches! But, after using it for a month, suddenly my face puffed up and got bright red and warm to the touch (like a sunburn, but it was itchy...but I couldn't scratch because it burned). I had to go on prednisolone and zyrtec to get rid of that! And now I'm officially allergic to "sulfa" drugs (the bleaching cream, not the steroids & zyrtec). After learning more about it, I guess a lot of people are allergic to sulfa drugs, so if you go on it, don't hesitate to get to the doctor at the slightest allergic reaction. (I walked around for a couple of days hoping it would go away. I looked like a sunburned Kling-On - but I would actually go through that all again because it DID get rid of those patches!) Best of Luck!

Dear L.,
My daughter is 8 years old, and I still have traces too. My advise, wear sunblock daily. Try not to get any sun on your face at all. You can also go to the Dermatologist for Retinol cream. Or just pick a moisturizer/sunblock with Retinol. Hope this helps.
