Silver-gray is such a neutral color! I would think that any color would go with it. Bright colors, red, yellow, green, orange, blue, etc. would look especially nice. How lucky that you have some great fabric to make nice gifts with!

What color or colors goes with silver gray? I am making pot holders for a Christmas exchange. While going through my stash of fabric I found a quilted silver fabric that is used on the back of pot holders to keep one from burning one's fingers. Now that I finally have a use for the stuff I can't decide what to put on the front of it to make it look cute. It is kind of creepy looking in and of it’s self. So I could really use some good suggestions from those creative souls I know are out there. Thanks.
I found some light blue fabric with silver and white stars on it. I quilted the top layer with dark blue quilting designs and bound the edges with dark blue fabric that had the lighter blue color in speckles on it. They turned out well I think. Since I have plenty left over pot holder fabric I may use some of your great suggestions latter. Thanks for your imput.

The good news is most anything goes with silver/gray! So you'll have a hard time messing this up. I personally would choose some bright colors for contrast. In fact, bright stripes or plaids or polka dots against the solid silver would really pop. Have fun and what a great gift!
Really pretty raspberry, or deep purple, even a nice deep red.
Burgundy or maroon really goes good with silver/grey, and those colors go great with Christmas!
I agree with both of the answers below. All of those colors would look great with the silver. I also agree about the purple. The is something really beautiful when deep purples are accompanied by silver/gray. What an awesome gift to give!
I know black and grey always match, but if you put red or purple with it, they might look more sexy. I wouldn't put green, yellow, or orange with it because it might be too bright. Good luck.
Keep having fun Missy! A lot of colors go with gray. Depending on what you are doing. You can do Pink, Yellow, Brown, a printed fabric. Just have fun. You are the designer, tap into your own creative juices you'll be surprised with what you come up with. Heck, it might even turn into a biz.
I think blue looks beautiful with silver/gray. Almost any shade of blue would look great. Plus, it won't be too Christmasy, so they can use it all year long.
How about red & black. I also thing a deep purple would look good kinda like royalty. Good luck!
As far as color goes, I think Maroon goes well with Silver and it is a festive color for the holiday.
Any color goes with a silver/gray. Be creative and have fun. Trust your instintics and your taste -- if you like it, the people you are giving it to will also like it ! If you goof one up, you can always use it as a pot trivet :)
