My boyfriend has to take a main dish for a potluck with his class next Wednesday, does anyone have any ideas/recipes you can share? There will be about 12 people, and he (my boyfriend) said there was a girl in the class that was also taking a main dish, but she claimed pasta so he can't take a pasta dish (don't know why, but ok). Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

So What Happened?

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. My boyfriend asked me to make something I had made before-buffalo chicken spaghetti. I have yet to try it because I'm not that big on the buffalo sauce flavor, but he really likes it and he said everyone at the potluck really liked it as well. I look forward to trying the suggestions from all you ladies and really appreciate that you took the time to answer my question! Thank you again.

meatballs...quick and easy. We attended an appetizer party and were the only ones that brought anything with meat...so our meatballs were gone in a flash.

Here's another good one! It takes more work, but they are amazing!

24 small buns such as dinner rolls or turkey buns
1 lb. Virginia ham from deli - sliced thin
1 lb. Baby Swiss cheese from deli

Sauce:
2 sticks of butter
2-3 T. Worcestershire sauce - shake well
2 T. brown sugar
2 T. yellow mustard
2 T. poppy seeds

Make sandwiches using the buns, ham and cheese. Fit tightly together in one 9x13 pan and one 8x8 pan or one 11x17 pan.
Boil the sauce. Stir to mix well. Spoon sauce over the sandwiches. Cover with foil and put in refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight. Bake 25 minutes covered at 350 degrees. Uncover and bake 5-10 minutes. Recipe can easily be cut in half.

I always bring a spiral ham for potlucks... You can get one at most grocery stores for $12-15. Usually, they're pre-cooked and pre-sliced, only require 30 minutes to warm up beforehand, and it can be eaten at various temperatures (so you don't necessarily need to heat again when you get there). And, you'll probably get some leftovers for dinner the next day...

I just made a pork roast in the crock pot with some barbeque sauce add some buns and it is sooooo good, Just google that and you should find something you like. Sloppy Joe in a crock pot or chili might be good too.

you can make enchiladas...make the filing, warm up tortillas in microwave, then wrap up filling with the tortillas, put it on a glass (deep dish) where you can put it in the oven (make alot) then you add the enchilada sauce and add cheese ontop and put it in the oven.
