I know the infomercial you're talking about and have been wondering the same thing. It's called the PackIt, I believe. I'd love to hear from someone who has one. Thanks for asking.
Has anyone tried that lunch bag from the infomercial that is supposed to keep things "refrigerator cool" all day? I am wondering how well it works. I'm trying to save money and calories by bringing lunch to work. I find that as soon as lunch time hits I want to run to my car and escape the office... so my lunches in the refrigerator of the office are going to waste. I'd like to find something that will keep my lunch cool in my car (even in the summer) so it will be safe to eat as soon as I escape the office. Does anyone have anything that works for them?
*RESPONSE* The thing about the lunch in the refrigertor is that it is actually lunch meat, bread, etc that I bought to make lunch. I guess I could just make a lunch, keep it in the refrigerator, and grab it as I run screaming from the office... but with my luck I would forget to grab it each morning out of my car and it would sit in my car and spoil any way.
I just ordered a fridgetogo so I will update everyone on how it works once I use it. Thanks for all of the great suggestions.

I bought 4 pack it's, and love love them! My daughters school keeps their lunches outside, so I need their lunch to stay super cold. I put in a warm box of juice and by lunch time it's cold. The inside if the bag is filled with a gel that freezes. It takes hours to thaw. I got them just in time for summer. We have taken them to the beach, park everywhere! Buy more than one though because you will love love them. I can now send yogurt or boiled/deviled eggs and dont think twice about it. I even put after school snacks and they are still cold after school! When I got mine they were buy one get one free so hopefully they still have that special! You could leave it in yourcar or at ur desk! Good luck!
What is the official name? I want to read reviews about it....
Found reviews...most claim it last 4 hours, not 10 AND once gel packs melt, bag becomes wet...sounds like a good idea, but a regular insulated lunch pail might work just as well...
During my search, I found, Fridge-To-Go...check it out...http://myfridgetogo.com/ and shipping is only $5, flat rate.
Those are not meant to keep them cool in the outdoors. (Like, the heat inside your car.) When we keep our lunch in the car, we use a small cooler with ice. I fill a Tupperware bowl with ice and freeze it. That melts slower then ice. I still put some ice in there, but not as much.
I don't know about the lunchbox, but have you tried making your sandwich the night before and freezing it? Yogurt, too (or cheese stick) and then pack them, frozen, in a bag in the morning They'll thaw out but still be cold at lunchtime. I wouldn't leave it in the car, though.
I think from what I've read, the "refrigerator cool" thing is dependent on the ambient temperature, which should only be about room temp. So, if your car is out in the sun, that DEFINITELY won't happen. What about just making a pit-stop by the fridge to grab your lunch before escaping? Or would that make your escape more obvious than you're trying to be? :)
Take a small cooler w/small jug of frozen water in it to keep things cool and bring it into your office.
Keep it under your desk w/your keys on top of it so when lunch time hits...voila....you grab and go.
Quick escape to your car.
I used to do that. I would even park at a nearby park w/my cooler, park in the shade, sometimes keep my a/c on if hot and read a book.
Aww sweet solitude and a nice, cheap lunch!
Do it. You'll love it! :)
It all depends on how many preservatives are in your food. Best bet is to make it, bring it in the office in the refrigerator or at your desk with an ice pack and grab it on the way out the door.
