I was just wondering if anyone has been here and the surrounding areas and if they had any suggestions for a must see while we're there. We're only going for a weekend. I was looking at Louisville and a town near by called Bardstown, looks like it has alot of historical things to see. Has anyone been to ChurchHill downs and was it worth it.
Thanks

I was just there for the first time a couple of weeks ago. There is a 6 Flags with a water park that was nice and my family and I enjoyed the Louisville Slugger museum tour. We went by ChurchHill Downs which was incredible to see from the outside, but had decided that the cost was something that we didn't want to do. Overall it was an enjoyable trip.

Bardstown has great restaurants-esp. Judge Roy Bean's. Bardstown Road is a few miles of historic bars, restaurants, etc. There is an old hotel- Brown? Hotel near the riverfront-supoosed to have a unique sandwich. The museums are good if you like baseball. and Churchill Downs offers behind the seen tours, be sure to call ahead.

Our family really enjoyed the Louisville Slugger Museum and factory. The museum has a lot of pretty cool stuff but I really liked the factory tour, where you get to see the Louisville Slugger bats as they are being made.

Louisville is a great town. I would suggest hitting the Louisville Slugger Museum, Churchill Downs, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, and renting bikes on the Riverfront. All of these attractions are fun and extremely worth it! Have a great trip!!
