Losing My Hair- Thyroid???

I have been diagnosed as hypothyoid. I began on Synthroid in Aug. and have had a couple of adjustments in dosage. (upward) About the middle of March I started losing my hair.(SIgnificantly!) I can fill a small snack sized sandwich bag each time I do my hair. I have always had supe-thick hair so it is just now noticable to everyone else. I have gone from washing it daily to every 3 days- which is really bad for me since I am kind of a neat/clean freak. :) Anyway, at first the doc said it was stress, but I think it has been too long for that to be it!! I know thyroid acan cause it and so can the meds. But, how long does it last, and will it ever grow back normally??? I am also looking for a good endocrinologist to help me with this, as I have been going to my family doctor! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What can I do next?

P.,

I just read that Kourkrin is good for hair. I always buy the FIRST magazine & it has great advice. Look it up on the net. I just purchased my 1st bottle & am anxiously waiting to receive it.

Hope it works for you.

I too have been losing my hair and used to have a head full of it. I was also put on Synthroid and but never took it like I was supposed too.. Kinda glad I didn't now that I have read your posting. I have also been told all the things you have and to no avail haven't had any results in finding someone to help me. my hair stylist recommended Nioxon hair products that you can only get at the salon... they are kinda pricey but I am hoping for good results... if you get any answers please share as I will share also...Good Luck

Look at some books by Dr. Elizabeth Vliet. She talks about how alot of doctors dismiss women's symptoms and saying it's stress. But after Dr. Vliet examines her patients she finds a biological reason for symptoms. I have gone to her for 2 years for pre-menopausal/menopausal symptoms. Her website is: www.herplace.com I'm not saying you have to go to her, but her books may give you some reassurance and information. She is super-savvy on women's issues.
Best wishes.
