Losing Inches Not pounds...and Frustrated

I really got tired of how I looked and felt so I put myself on a strict diet and exercise plan. I rollerblade or walk everyday and also do weights every other day(all at home since I can't afford a gym). I can tell that I have lost inches because my clothes are loose and I have already dropped a pant size and am close to dropping another. So I am really happy about that, but when I get on the scale their isn't that much difference. It frustrates me and I am trying really hard not to have a defeatist attitude and stop everything. DOn't get me wrong, I am VERY happy about dropping sizes, but I want to see the difference on the scale. Is there anything else I can do, because I do weigh too much.
TIA

What can I do next?

Great advice so far and also remember that muscle burns more calories and weighs more. Doing more cardio and less weights will move the number on the scale but the most important thing is that you are losing weight. You do not want to lose more than 1-2 lbs and week. There are lots of things that effect weight loss. Sleep, stress, food and liquid intake, and even hormones. So don't give up yet, it is working it is just not going to happen tomorrow. Keep up the hard work it will pay off in the end!

Muscle weighs more than fat. You've increased muscle mass (and therefore are burning more calories). This is a gooood thing and very healthy. Too many people lose weight but don't gain the muscle and, as a result, are unable to keep the weight off.

Stay off the scale and go by your size. It's a more accurate measurement of how you're doing.

Inches are way more important than pounds - that means that you are building muscle - which the weights do. The weights will sculpt your body and build muscle while the cardio will drop the pounds. If you really want to lose more pounds - do more cardio.

I lost more than 40 pounds in 2007 using a free online website called Calorie Count (http://caloriecount.about.com). You can register for free and have access to all the great tools. You can track your weight, exercises, and all the food you eat. The tools will even tell you how many calories you should eat every day to reach your goal weight. It sounds like you're already very disciplined, which is definitely the key to success. Keep up the good work and you'll start to see the numbers on the scale go down. The key to weight-loss is to burn more calories than you consume.

i think you are doing fabulous! make sure you are eating and sleeping enough. you need atleast 1200 calories or your body will hold onto excess fat. you might want to find one of those online tools that lets you determine how many calories you need to maintain a certain weight. also you need atleast 7-8 hours of sleep or your body will over time get exhausted, thus you will overeat or drink too much caffeine...just a bad cycle to start.

K S, I am sure you have heard this but muscle weighs more than fat. When you are exercising you are building that muscle and breaking down the fat. Don't even look at a scale. You need to pick a pant size and work towards getting into that, not by the scale. If you lost 10lbs and still wore the same clothes would you actually feel better about your accomplishment? I would suggest not getting on the scale for 2 weeks and see what happens, but again focus on your size not the weight.
