Looking to Meet Fellow Moms in the Area

I am looking to meet other moms of young babies like myself. Not only to have someone to relate to, but to get my lil girl some interaction with babies her own age. I have in home babysitting, but its just my baby and her sitter all day everyday. I want to start getting her a little more socialized, but can't afford to put her in a daycare group.

What can I do next?

Hi C. - I'm 27 and live in the Alderwood area south of the Old Spaghetti Factory. I have a 6 year old, 4 year old and 8 1/2 month old (all girls). I would be happy to get together with you for a baby play date! I used to be a part of Seattle Playgroups, but sadly that has fizzled out. From the other responses it sounds like we could get a playgroup going up here! I stay at home, so am free just about every day. PM me if you are interested in getting together!

Hey C..

First, I'm so jealous that you have a babysitter to help you while you're at home! :o)

Second, check out meetup.com. You can find playgroups through them, and I know there are a few good ones in this area for new mommies, like Kenmore Moms Group or Dragonflies and Ladybugs. You just type in your location information and what kind of group you're looking for (moms group or playgroup, etc.) and it will find anything matching in your area. Most are free and a few cost a minimal amount (like $30/year or $5/month). CafeMom.com also has a similar forum that you can check out. You could also use both or either to start your own group! :o)

Also, there's the MOMS Club, which has chapters all over the US. I used to be apart of the Bothell/Kenmore chapter, which was great. You can check them out at http://www.geocities.com/sunny2190/moms_club.html.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

C.,

I have a 5 year old boy and a 19 month old girl and live on 186th off of 99 in Lynnwood. Tues, Wed, and Thurs my son most likely will be in preschool. I'm pretty flexible otherwise.
