Hi -
I've been doing a lot of research into possibly getting a new car (mine is 10 years old). I'm looking for a safe, reliable car that will last. I was looking at the Mazda 6 or Honda CR-V. Does anyone own one of these cars and have an opinion about the car? Likes? Dislikes?

THANKS!!

What can I do next?

Have you looked at the Mazda 5? It is smaller than an SUV, but yet seats 7. the 2 middle seats are captains chairs, and then the back folds up to a bench seat. the 2 back doors are sliding like a mini van, which makes it extremely easy to load and unload babies or small children, yet is roomy for them and their stuff. I LOVE my Mazda 5!

Hello!
I had a CRV! I loved it. I just traded it in this year because we needed something bigger (got the Pilot).

I loved, loved, loved my CRV. It was roomy, easy to get car seats in and out. We were able to take it on long trips and there was enough room in the back for our "stuff" and we were still able to see out of the back.

If we didn't have a 3rd child, I would still be driving that crv.

I highly recommend it!

Love the Honda CR-V, 2010 model. They improved the acceleration and it really moves when necessary on the highway.

I have a 2009 Honda CRV. I like it very much except the power is pretty weak. It takes a bit from when I press the gas for the car to actually accelerate. Plus the cabin noise is pretty bad. But other than that, I like the car. Serves its purpose well (roomy, reliable).

I don't have either one of these but do have a Mitsubishi Outlander and love it! It's just the right size for my daughter and I and gets pretty good gas mileage. It's a high 4 cylinder and has all wheel drive as well. If you want more info on this car let me know.

Hi,

My family is Honda all the way... my first car (1982 Honda Civic - nearly 20 years old when I owned it in 2001) was amazing - still ran well, and got me everywhere I needed to go in the mountains of CO.

I still drive a Civic, and my dad just bought an Accord - they tend to be fairly reliable and nice (just my opinion). ^____^

ask your insurance agent to quote both for you so you can see the difference in premium. sometimes when you can't decide...that will help make up your mind. good luck and congrats!

I have a 2010 CR-V and love it. I previously owned a CR-V and loved that one too. The only reason I traded it is because we bought a boat and we needed something that would pull it. I leased a GMC Envoy for 4 years and liked it but the gas mileage was horrible so I went back to a CR-V. My sister also owns a CR-V that she has had for close to 10 years and it is still perfect. In my experience, if you take care of your Honda - it will take care of you for years to come.

I've had two Mazda 6 Wagons, 04 and 06, 6cyl, 6sp, I bought them because I like to drive, I want a fast responsive car in which I can weave in and out of the moms in their giant minivans or suvs, who are doing pretty much EVERYTHING else besides driving the car! The WAgon is no longer available in the US. The new generation 6s are more geared toward luxury than towards performance, personally I think they are GORGEOUS, but not what I need anymore. In late July I smoked my motor and transmission on my 06 6, with only 70k miles. Price tag was 10k, but went that direction rather than buying a new car, there ARE no cars that suit my needs in that price range (25k-35k). I am still awating the work to be finished, am driving a Ford Focus rental (zzzzzzzzzzz). I LOVE my Mazda 6, both of them, I love Mazda's concept as a company since I am a very spirited driver (with three teenagers and 2 golden retrievers), but if you are looking for safety, economy, and and traction in snowy weather, the 6 is probably not the car for you! My mom has a CRV and it suits her needs perfectly, relatively inexpensive, very reliable, very safe. Good Luck!

My Honda CRV is 10 years old and still going strong. I will probably buy a new Honda CRV or Pilot when mine croaks!

I have a 2002 CRV and I LOVE it! It has almost 160k on it and it still runs great. I will NOT give it up. I will drive it until it quits -- it's the perfect car for me. I would love a new 2010 CRV, but it doesn't come with a picnic table and I can't afford a new car right now...
Mine is loud -- lots of road noise, but the 2010 may have addressed that... Would I buy it again - absolutely!!
