Looking for the Flu Shot!

I don't post often but I am in a jam! I scheduled flu shots for our family 6 weeks ago at our local doctors office to make sure that we were guaranteed shots before they ran out. The receptionist called last week to inform us that there will be no vaccine available for our daughter who is 3 1/2 years old. The doses that they have recieved are too strong for children under the age of 4. I remember that last year she needed a series of 2 shots, I do not know if that is the case this year but I am assuming that it probably is? I do not know WHERE to take my daughter so that she can get the shot....our local Walgreens said that they are finished for this year. UGGGH, I don't want my baby to get sick! She attends preschool AND I have a small home daycare-so she really needs to be protected.

I do not check my Mamasource files often, please e-mail any suggestions to me at ____@____.com

THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!!!!!

Hi M.,

2 years ago when our insurance did not cover for vaccine, I took my son to the county department of public health to get the shot (we belong to cook county), it's free for us, however, you will have to call them in advance to find out their hours and fees etc.

Good luck!

Check all local stores/grocery stores/pharmacies. If not, check your county services for immunizations.

What about Target, CVS or the grocery stores?

I went to my local Osco and they will either take an appointment or will accept walk ins.. It was $30.00 for the shot. It was for myself, but sure they do children. I believe the little ones only need the two shots that first time ever getting the flu shot then after, they just need the one once a year.
