Hi there,
The Evanston Athletic club offers baby swim class and the minimum age is 6 months, you don't have to be a member to take the classes either. Their web address is EAC.com I think. Their classes are all on the website. Have fun!
My husband and I would love to take a swimming class with our 8 month old daughter. Most of the programs I have seen start at 18 months. Are there any programs out there for younger babies? We live North in the city. Thanks!

I have a friend on the north end of the city and she took her baby at around 6 months to the YMCA over in Niles and she really liked there program.
Evanston Athletic Club has weekend classes. I think you can be 4 months or even younger.
The YWCA in Evanston starts at 6 months. They have a great program!
Try the Y. The New City Y has classes starting at 6 months and the instructors are great. Our daughter started at 9 months and loved it.
Check out the lakeview YMCA http://www.lakeviewymca.org/proAquatics.html#gymswim
The Galter Lifecenter on Foster- it is associated with Swedish Hospital. They start at 6 months and you can sign up your children even if you are not a member. It is called Aqua Babies. The classes start on the 18th of April, so you should go and sign up if you are interested ASAP, classes there fill up fast. Also, the pool is heated, so it is not a shock to the child. My son, Thomas did it and LOVED IT. We are going to do the class again in the fall, so my now 3 month and him can do the class together. The class is for 6 months to 2 years of age.
