Looking for Swim Lessons in Cedar Park or Northwest Austin

Nitro Swim. Absolutely the best. Coach Mike can get any child who is deathly afraid to go into the water and have that child going under water and having fun within 15 minutes! He works with Olympic medalists.

Hi - We take our 5 year old son to Emler Swim School on Anderson Mill and he loves it! It's a great school and the instructors are good. We even had his birthday party there.

A great place in Cedar Park is called Nitro. They do swimming lesson and swim teams. What I liked about it is you learn at your on pace. If you learn faster you move on. They have different stations you have to pass to move on and so you are not stuck with the same kids who are slower and faster than yours. They teach actual swimming and it is indoors so you can start anytime. I took my 3 year old last summer and he still talks about it. I am going to sign him up in April or May this year. If no one else has told you yet, Emler is awesome. My son took lessons there from the time he was around 18 months till he was 3 1/2. He loved them and he was swimming underwater by himself for 10 seconds probably within 6 months, if not sooner. It is on Anderson Mill near 183. We plan to start our 1 year old daughter there within the year. The only down side is it is pretty expensive, but I think it's worth it.

Emler Swim School! I can't say enough good things about them. I think the website is www.iswimemler.com. It's right off Anderson Mill at an indoor pool, so there are lessons year round. It's pretty pricey (like $18 per class if you break it down), but the classes are only 3-4 kids, and they really work on your child's particular issue. I just did one 3 month session with my son when he was 3. He went from not letting water touch his face in the bathtub to swimming by himself underwater across the pool. He's now 5 and hasn't had lessons since and still swims great and kept all his skills. We've tried the Y swim lessons, and they are a joke. A bunch of highschoolers just going through the motions with your kid. They don't actually learn anything. I have heard good things about Nitro too. It's on 1431 by Soccer Tots. They're fairly new but have a really good program. Good luck with it. I think good swim lessons are so important. I have peace of mind now when I take my kids to the pool knowing they can swim to the side if they get too deep.

I've been looking into Nitro Swimming for my 3. A friend of mine has her daughter in there and likes it. I like that they move them up to a new group when they are doing well and they don't keep them in the "beginner" group if they have passed that level already.
