Hi M.,
Rutherford County Schools have pre-k programs in several of their schools in Murfreesboro and Smyrna at no cost to you. They are all under the guidelines of Gov. Bredesen's new "No Child Left Behind" in TN. There are guidelines that you have to meet though, such as how much you make a year, etc. Anyway, it is five days a week and you don't have to be zoned for the school that she will attend. It is a very good program. My grandaughters attended last year and really enjoyed themselves and learned a lot. One attended at Smyrna Primary and the other at Smyrna Elem. The RCS Board of Ed. phone no. is ###-###-#### for more info. or here are a list of schools where Pre-K is taught in Rutherford Co.

The sooner you apply the better chance you have at getting her in the program for the year. If they are full, you will be put on a waiting list until a spot opens up, but sometimes that wait isn't very long at all. Matter of fact when one of my grandaughters applied last year, we were told that she would be added to the waiting list, and within the same day my daughter got a call that she would be able to start that following Monday. Apparently several students had moved opening up a position for her.
Hope this helps and best of luck.
S.
