I am a single dad and enjoy every minute with my son; he is almost 4 and a very funny, lovely and sweet little guy. I absolutely enjoy spending my time with him but get to the point where I also want to offer him opportunities to play with other kids - and just the playgrounds don't fully do it. I don't know any other parents and kids, all those contacts were taken over by my ex, thus I have to go my own way. Anybody out there interested in maybe taking a hike together in Discovery Park or Carkeek Park and see if the kids click and like to play to eventually maybe establish somewhat regular playdates?
Mum and dad 3 yr old girl love to have play dates. we have memberships to the zoo, aquarium. We could get the kids togther if you want.

H. - Have you ever checked out meetup.com, seattledads.org, or seattlepi.com/dad? When we first moved here I joined Seattle Playgroups which has since disbanded but our friendships and playdates remain. I've often seen groups of dad and kids getting together for hikes and playground excursions. Might be worth looking into, if you haven't already.

This is just a thought.. I read that you live in Ballard.. I have a daughter in full day kindergaten and a 3 year old.. Have you ever been to Olympic Athletic club? I live in Maple leaf but love it so much I trek to ballard (only 20 min. ) I absolutely love it b/c of the kids korner.. It is so nice.. and my 3 year old sees the same kids on a regular basis and I get to workout. They do lots of arts and crafts.. toys and puzzles.. My kids love it.. also they offer wonderful swim lesson.. kids yoga and in the summer kids kick boxing.. the kids classes are 5 dollar drop in fee.. except swimming you sign up 4 weeks at a time and they are a little more.. also they have parents night out once a month..

I have a 5 1/2 year old boy, and a 2 year old girl. I'm always looking for adult conversation. I live in Lynnwood, but am willing to drive a bit. My son is not in school yet, because of an October birthday.
