Hi Moms!
I live in Northern Lake County (near the border of WI-Antioch/Gurnee).
My daughter will be 4 in June and I would like to have a separate kids party for her. Mostly girls will be invited but a few boys too.
Any ideas suggestions? Either - places in the area (I already know about Pump It Up/Chuckie Cheeses etc) or ideas for a themed party at home? It is in June so it will be nice out.
Probably 15 kids or so.
Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

We did this when my son was 5. He wanted a sleep over but we told him he was too young. So we did a slumber party 5:30-8:30. The kids came in their pj's with a toothbrush. We gave them pizza and cake, let them play outside (we organized a few games), did a pinata (this was their takeaway) then had them brush their teeth and lay in our family room watching a movie until their parents came. It was a lot of fun, unique and quite inexpensive! many of the parents went out to dinner while the kids were here so they appreciated it too!

How about the Kohl Children's Museum. There are lots of things for children to do and you won't have to worry about the weather.

There is this place across the street from the Anitoch Wal-mart that sells backyard playsets. They rent out the showroom for birthday parties, where the kids can play on all the swing sets. They also have a seperate party room where you can do cake and presents. Not sure of the name, but my daughter had fun when she attended a party there..

Hi M.,

My daughter has a cheer/gymnastics gym in Johnsburg. Kids LOVE it for birthday parties and it's easy on mom. The gym has tramponlines, balance beams, mats, etc. The coaches entertain the kids. There is space in the lobby to serve cake and open gifts. You provide the cake, drinks, etc. - the staff does all the work. My grandchildren - from age 3 to 12 have had parties there and has been a favorite of all their friends.

Check out the site at www.firehouseathletics.com. The gym is off Spring Grove Road, near Rt. 12. I believe the cost for 15 kids is $125 for an hour and a half.

Good luck.
