Hey Mamas-
I am looking for a local store or market that carries a wide variety of good organic produce. I have looked at some larger stores that claim they carry organic and have not been very satisfied with the selection. I have also tried Whole Foods but there is not one very close to where I live. Any local markets or farmer's markets worth checking out??
Thanks!

What can I do next?

I will have to agree with Trader Joe's as far as a wide selection. I have however seen organic at Costco (I go to the one in Orland Park) and slow but sure, Jewel and Dominicks are adding it to their selection. In fact, Dominicks in Joliet has a whole area devoted to organic.

The only place I really know of is Whole Foods, of course...or maybe Trader Joe's? There is a Trader Joe's in Naperville on Washington street (in the same lot as Colonial Cafe) --I don't know the cross street. Have you been to the Whole Foods in Willowbrook? That one is a bit closer than Wheaton and you can just hop on 55 to 83 and it really doesn't take any time at all to get there.

WE can't see what other's have written until after we submint, so I apologize if this has been mentioned lots of times. Trader Joes is up Weber, which becomes Washington in Naperville, at the Gartner Plaza. It also has Caseys Food and Great Harvest Bread company

I enjoy the convenience of having the organic food delivered and the cost is not anymore than buying it individually myself.

This reminds me it's time to put in my order! Don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions.

I also order form www.tcforganics.net and am happy with the produce. They also have other products, like dairy. Delivery is pretty cheap too, about $6. Call ###-###-#### to find out more or check out the website.

Recently, I drove by an organic farm in Naperville on Rt. 59, I wanna say some where between 111th and 95th St. Might be worth looking into. It would be nice to actually know that the produce was locally grown.

Trader Joes has everything!! It is much cheaper than shopping at dominicks or jewel. Organic items are only pennies more than the conventional item. There is one in Naperville and Orland Park. It's definately worth the drive. I do all my weekly shopping there while supplementing a few items at dominicks. Our farmer's market in frankfort doesn't have hardly any organic produce but it still is so good because it's local.
