Looking for OBGYN at Evanston

I also use the midwives at North Shore Assocs (I think someone gave you their number already). I just had my baby about 3 weeks ago and had a very positive experience with the practice and the hospital. I also just ran into my baby's pediatrician (who is pregnant) who apparently also uses the doctors there so that must be a good indicator as well! I switched to this practice 32 weeks into my pregnancy from a practice I didn't like that was affiliated with Northwestern/Prentiss - very happy with the switch. good luck!

I absolutely adore my OB/GYN. The last time I was pregnant I found out my previous doctor had dropped my insurance and she referred me to my present doctor because she accepted BCBS HMO IL. Her name is Traci Kurtzer and she is part of ENH, but has her own office/practice. It is located on Church in Evanston in an old building - I copied and pasted a website with her info...

Unfortunately, my pregnancy ended with a D&C so I haven't been through a pregnancy with her, but she is so kind and gentle and sweet. She takes her time with her patients and I have no hesitation in recommending her. She is in an older building, but the office is fine. Her receptionist constantly talks about her cats, but if you can handle that...she's a wonderful doctor and person. Good luck and let me know if you have any specific questions about her.

Shelly, I just had a baby 5 months ago at Evanston. I had a great experience with my OB Dr.Carol Ellman ###-###-####. Her office is at 1000 Central across the street from the hospital. She is wonderful, very patient and she does listen and is very honest and open. She has a very trusting and gentle way about her. I hope you give her a try. Good luck to you.

P.S My labor nurses name was Donna(days nurse). She was SUPER!!!I hope you get her or maybe you can request her. She has been doing this for a long time and didnt leave my side during labor.

Partners in Womencare--all the Doctors and Nurses are fantastic. I would recommend Dr. Parul Gupta--she's one of the newer doctors--absolute best! Unbelievably nice. She actually told me she left Northwestern Hospital bc the doctors there were stuck up and just not nice to their patients. Dr. Jennifer Kim was on call when I delivered and she was great too.

I also see someone at North Shore Associates. The office is wonderful and cannot say enough good things about their whole practice... except sometimes waits are long (ie 1 hour). They handle paperwork promptly and you can always get responses to requests quickly. Dr. Saleh is well respected and a good doctor, but has an unusual bedside manner... dry sense of humor.... often can't tell if he's joking. Took me a while to warm up to him. Dr Goodwin was on call and delivered our baby... she would be my first choice but not sure if she is accepting new patients! She is so calming and explains things very well, very sensitive and reassuring. My delivery was very smooth (induced with pitocin after water broke and no contractions). St Francis was very comfortable and the staff was great.

I used Partners in Womencare with my first and had a fabulous experience. I've used all of the doctors (all female) and would recommend all of them - Dr Kim, Dr Pellar & Dr Warner (head of practice). There is a new doctor to the practice, Dr Kupta, who is supposed to be amazing too. I've also heard wonderful things of the nurse midwife. 1000 Central St (located across the street from ENH # ###-###-####).

I've been using North Shore Associates (2500 Central St, Evanston ###-###-####- also across the street from ENH) for my second (Partners in Womencare dropped my insurance) and I would recommend Dr Goodwin (also female) or any of the midwives.

Hi Shelly, I would love to hear what happened with your last pregnancy and birth. Perhaps I can help. I am a certifed nurse midwife associated with a 3 female OB /Gyne group. I "catch" babies at Evanston Hopsital. I am available 24/7 and go to the hospital when my patients go to the hospital in labor. Therefore, they do not interface with the residents unless there is an emergency and my collaborating physicians are not at the hospital in time (rare occurrance).
