Looking for Nice Playgrounds

Quiet Waters Park has a Splash Adventure - but it costs a few dollars. (Deerfield Bch area)
And a really GREAT park is Sugar Sand Park (off Military and Palmetto in S. Boca). They have a science explorium, a carosel, a HUGE wooden playground - w/ a little water fun, and picnic areas. the carosel and a space ship simulator cost 1$ per ride.
Butterfly world is awesome, too!!!! It is expensive to go for one time (18.00) but a year pass is only $30.00

I am a homeschool mom of 3 girls who are now in their teen years. They used to love TY park in hollywood off of Sheridan and 95 (I think). We would join 1 indoor area (e.g. discovery center or Young at art, etc.) for one year which helped the girls learn to really enjoy everything in that place and I was able to relax a bit and let them play because I was used to it as well. Other outdoor parks that I've seen that look good are in Plantation acres (off of Sunrise just west of Hiatus on 118th) and in Sunrise at Welleby Park on 44th again a little west of Hiatus. Our favorite zoo would have been the Palm Beach zoo which we are now members of but the girls agree that they would have liked it better when they were younger. It has a water play area and a year's membership is only 85$. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful time with your son!!!!! It pays off because I now have a wonderful relationship with my girls and even though we are in the middle of the teen years, we may have "minor" teen conflicts but they are resolved quickly because that is what they are used to. I love Sugar Sands park in Boca just across the border from Broward. It's on Military Trail just north of Camino Real. I'm sure they have a website if you google it. Also, I'll be checking out the water park in Quiet Waters Park soon. It doesn't get above 18 inches, so it's perfect for my 17 month old. Good luck! Sue

For recreation on dry land, Quiet Water park offers Rent-A-Tent camping, nature trail, shelter rentals, large playground, sports equipment rentals, as well as jogging trails many other such activities.

there is a really nice playgoroung on wiles and coral springs drive. it can some times be crowded if you go right when the kids get out of school but it is new and my son who is 18 months loves that play ground.

I did a little reasearch on this place and it does look awesome. We plan on going soon. Just an FYI...

If you are in the north of Broward, I'd definitely recommend Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton. Both of my boys have loved it for as long as they've been able to walk. There are hands-on science exhibits an explorium, cultural bits, a skate park etc, but the jewels are the Merry Go Round ($1/ride, but adults are free while the kids are little) and the science-themed playground, which is safe and fun for kids of pretty much any age and simply spectacular... definitely worth checking out even if you don't live in the north of broward if you've something else to do up north, since it's not far off of '95 (on the north side of Military trail between Hillsborough and Palmetto Park Rd).

It's best to always make sure that you have a spare set of clothes handy, since there *are* water play features and no matter how hard you try, there's not any guarantee that they won't be able to get themselves soaked in pretty short order.
