Looking for Moms Who Have Experience with Gymboree or Little Gym

I am considering joining Gymboree or Little Gym with my 17 month old daughter. I am a work from home mom so she doesn't socialize in daycare with other children and I think she would benefit from some type of program with other children. We visit the park almost daily and the zoo often but I think she needs more. Does anyone have any positive or negative comments about Gymboree or Little Gym? It is expensive so I want to be sure it is worth the money. I am signed up for a free trial class this Saturday. Also, does anyone know if the city of Chandler has any programs for young toddlers?
Thanks!

What can I do next?

We have been going to TLG in Ahwatukee since my daughter was an infant (she's 3 now) and she LOVES it. The staff is wonderful and supportive and fun--well worth the $$.

The city of chandler also has programs which you can read about on their website as well as in Breaktime magazine, available at Fry's

I am sure that thc City of Chandler has some sort of Mommy and Me classes you could do. You can look in thier Break Time Magazine on the city of Chandler website. Also, I do not have experience with Gymboree or Little Gym, but I took my boys to Rolly Pollies and they loved it. All the kids love Mrs. Kyna. I think it is comparable in price to the other too but I am not positive. Check it out if you haven't already. Good luck!

Dear K.,

I had my son enrolled in The Little Gym at about 10 months (he was an early walker) for 2 years. He really loved it, especially as he get older and was able to really enjoy the use of the equipment. The only reason that we stopped was because it was so expensive, and at around 3, we felt that he was able to benefit from other outdoor activities.

We went to Gilbert Road location, and the teachers there were great! We also made some good friends with the parents as well.

Good luck!

Gymboree is AWESOME!!! My 19 month old daughter started when she was 5 months old. We have done music and the gym class. We just moved to CA and I am getting ready to enroll her here...she THRIVED and EXCELLED!!! They really know what they are doing when it comes to age appropriate developmental stuff. WORTH THE MONEY!!!

I have gone to both places. I currently go to Little Gym and I really like it. I think it's worth the money. I go to the one in Gilbert and the people are nice.

Hi K., my daughter has been enrolled in Funastics for over a year and loves it! They have a younger class that the parents participate in as well. I did the trial class at the Little Gym and then at Funastics, I liked Funastics so much better because there is no wall between the parents and kids. It's a wide open gym and the teachers are fantastic. check out www.gilbertgymnastics.com or call Joanna at ###-###-####. Have lots of fun! =)

I love the Little Gym. My son has been attending there for quite some time (he's 2 1/2 and started before he was 1). I have been told that Gymboree is more of a play place (I have never been there, so I'm not positive) At Little Gym the kids get the play and social interaction, plus they learn. Our instructor is constantly telling us new things about child development and teaching the kids new things to do. I agree that it isn't cheap, but I think the benifits are worth it.
Good luck and have fun.

I think Gymboree is so overpriced. I took my daughter there when she was 1 and, if I remember right, you had to pay for a block of sessions. Each session was supposed to be 55 minutes long, but the instructor took her time and was always late. Then she had to get out the equipment, and we always finished early. If you were the only kid there because the others didn't show, you really got ripped off. I think there are sooooo many better programs out there.
