Hi J., I'm T., 37 and pregnant with our second child... congratulations to you! Motherhood is wonderful... especially at our age!
I found some awesome deals on maternity clothes at Target for my first pregnancy. Check out the sales racks... look for the pink tags (Liz Lange). It's often mixed in with the regular clothes. The one thing I paid full price for was a maternity bathing suit... but just about everything else was sale priced. I might have purchased a pair of shorts at Walmart, too. I purchases a few outfits at Old Navy in Boynton (Congress Ave). One of my favs was my denim shorts. They had a waistband and the cutest sash belt! And Old Navy makes maternity t-shirts that look just like their regular ts... no frills, gathers, bows, etc...
I bought very little at Motherhood (not my style)... I found the cheapest place to buy a nursing bra (for much later) was Walmart! I did buy a special occasion dress at Mimi Maternity in Wellington Mall... but shopped the sale rack and it only cost $40.
Shop around, pick up a few pieces at a time. Your size will change/shift as you progress through your term. I know even though everything fit me fine all along... NOTHING fit well in the last few weeks. (That's when I had XL drawstring waist shorts from Old Navy and a matching tshirt to wear around the house.) Go for comfort, too... nothing too tight around the waist. Some of those pants/shorts had bands on them that ended up being binding.
Best Wishes!
T.
