Looking for Local OB/GYN and Pediatrician

Ok I have 2 questions here...

First of all I just got notice that my OB/GYN is joining a women's care group and her office will be alll the way out in Halls and will be delivering at UT. It was already far for me to drive when she was at the tower at St Mary's. I am looking for a good doctor in the West Knoxville area, preferably female but doesnt have to be! Any suggestions?

Also, we just got new insurance and I am looking to switch pediatricians. I started going to Dr. Rhea when my daughter was on Tenncare and continued to use him even after we have regular insurance. Although I like the doctor, there is always a huge wait and I am not too crazy about some of the staff. Also, she has had some breathing issues (looks like she may become asthmatic) and I would like a second opinion bc they havent really done much for her at the Dr we go to now.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

What can I do next?

Dr. Michael Fields. He is the best there is. Check his reviews online and I think you will find he gets amazing reviews from all his patients. highly recommended.

I live in Maryville so I cant really help with the OB unless you want to drive :) but as far as the pediatrician we use Maryville Pediatrics Group and Pellissippi Pediatrics Group. Its the same doctors but they rotate out between the two buildings. Pellissippi Pediatrics is located off of Topside Rd (exit 9). Coming from West Knox take a left at the light and its the first right after the next light.

I couldnt ask for a better set of doctors. I truly feel they really care for the well being of my son. They do follow up calls in the same day and then the next day just to make sure he is doing better. They have even met us at Childrens when he got really sick.

I dont know if that is more of a drive then you were wanting but I would at least give them a try before say no. You never know... it may be worth the drive to you. I know its worth it to me when Maryville Pediatrics Group is full.

Dr. Rebecca Walker is the best OBGYN I have ever had. She is so wonderfule and sensitive to your needs. I have had a numbr of health problems over the past couple of years and she delivered my baby. I am so pleased with her. She is way more then a doctor. She is a good person. I can't tell you how many times I have got a good hug from her when I needed it. I am happy to say I am in good health now thanks to her!!! Her # is ###-###-####. Also Knoxville Ped Assc. are pretty good they have three locations and Sat and Sun hours. Their # is ###-###-####.

Can't help you with the OB/GYN, as I'm looking for a new one, as well. ;)

But, we do LOVE our kids' pediatrician. We've gone to the same one since my first was born (now 4, and I have a 2-year-old, too).

My kids see Dr. Richard Glover at Children's Faith Pediatrics (off Northshore). The whole office staff and nurses are fabulous, we always get in very quickly when our kids are sick, and have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for an appt. -- sick or well!

His partner is Dr. Perry, and he's great, too. They are just very different -- but I have friends who see one and friends that see the other, and all of them are very happy. Number there is ###-###-####.

I can second some of the responses you've already received. We have always been with Knoxville Pediatric Associates and have really liked the practice, always received great care, etc. They have weekend hours, which is really nice. My friend goes to Knoxville Faith Pediatrics and loves them and all the staff. They are a much smaller practice, which some prefer.

Rebecca Walker delivered my daughter b/c she shared called with my OB, and even though I had never seen her and am not in her practice she was fantastic. I have another friend who goes to her & absolutely loves her. I have been for years with Dr. Ceeccy Yang, who I also recommend highly. She and Dr. Kimberly Roberts (also great) have their practice, Women's Contemporary Health, right next to Parkwest Hospital. They also have a nurse practicioner who is fantastic.
