I don't know about holistic, but Dr. Poksay has all the latest & greatest equipment & sees "good" kids as well as adults. Here's a review:
I've heard tales of people flying out-of-state for their medical care. That's exactly what I'd do for this dentist!
Dr. Poksay ("Poke say") Don't let the poke part of his name scare you. He has examined my mouth for nearly 11 years and though I had a brief stint without health insurance and had to take a leave of absence, I'm back and more impressed than ever.
This guy has all the toys. He takes a microscope & finds potential problems (if they're there) before they can even become a follow-up visit. The x-rays (which I always fear due to radiation & hypochondriac beliefs) are taken with the latest & greatest machines & they don't have to take x-rays as often because the machines are so thorough.
From the waiting room (you won't wait long!) to your chair, you'll be comfy. His staff is marvelous & Lana has been at the front desk, greeting everyone with a smile longer than I've been a patient. Same goes for my favorite hygienist Cheryl. All the staff is great; don't get me wrong, but I can't help but favor Cheryl. She'll be your favorite, too. She's got kids of her own (as does the doc)& she is GREAT with kids.
Before I made flossing a New Year's resolution seven years ago, Cheryl would ask me if I'd been flossing. I always answered, "Yes". After all, when she flosses me every six months, doesn't that count for a "yes"? Cheryl makes you feel at home & she'll gladly put your personal tv on any channel that you'd like during any procedure or a simple cleaning. Though I don't have tv at home, I like the tv there because it doesn't make you feel obligated to chat. How the heck can you talk with hands or gauze (or worse) in your mouth any way?!
I've been lucky enough to have lived within 30 miles of Dr. Poksay's office over the past several years, but as I said, I would travel any length to be in his state-of-the art office and under his care.
