Looking for Healthy (Organic/veggie) Entree Recipe for GROUP of One Year Olds

I need to bring along an entree for a party that will include a group of almost toddlers (all about 12 months old) and it needs to be nutritious (hidden veggie purees a-la-Jessica-Seinfeld-kind-of-thing would be perfect!) and preferably organic. It also needs to be rather portable, easy to serve and, of course, tasty to toddlers. I'd be fine with something in a crock pot too. Please send me your tried and true meal recipes!! THANK YOU MOMMAS!

Hi,

Here's a good recipe for spinach quiche that my 3 yr. old and 6 yr. old really liked: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Spinach-Quiche/Detail.aspx

I went to Whole Foods and found everything I needed for the recipe in organic, except the frozen organic spinach came in a 16oz. package, not 10 oz. I just used it all anyway, and it came out great!

Hope this helps!

I like the idea of putting the pureed cauliflower in with your macaroni and cheese...it is one of those Seinfield recipes I found online. Let us know if you try it on whether the kids fell for it! Deceptively Delicious.

There are organic veggie Chikn Nuggets right in the grocer's freezer. My son thought they were the real deal FOREVER! You could heat them beforehand and put them in a carrier that keeps them at least room temp!
Take some ranch dressing for dipping (at least in my home) and you're in! lol
Good luck

I do a lot of organic food for my family. Here's a dish that almost all kids love and it's cheap and easy and fast. Spaghetti w/tomato sauce. You can puree some veggies in there if you like. However, you can also easily buy organic pasta at the store and also organic tomato sauce w/the veggies kind.

Super baby food is an awesome book--it has all kids of recipies from homemade yoogurt, to oatmeal, rice cereal, fruit rolls and much more--loved this book and made homemad baby food for three of my kiddos.

My entire family---husband, 17 year old, 4 yr. old, and 1 year old---love the chicken nuggets from Deceptively Delicious. The broccoli puree is the favorite. It's crunchier than using other purees. I've fed it to several of my girlfriends and their children. One girlfriend in particular has bad-mouthed the whole hiding veggies idea, saying it would never work with her or her kids, all of whom are notorious veggie-haters. She and her two girls ate more of them than anyone else---I had to make more!!! Also, mac&cheese (I use Annie's organic box) with butternut squash puree is a hit. Using cauliflower with mac&cheese did not go over in my house---you can feel the grainy texture.

I received Jessica Seinfeld's cookbook as a gift for christmas. My son won't eat any vegies. I've already tried two of the recipes and my son wouldn't eat either one. One was cupcakes and the other pancakes. I'm not too excited about the book considering the time it takes to prepare something and then he doesn't like it and I've got to eat it! Good luck w/your search!

I have a very hard tome getting my son to eat broccoli, but if I add cheese sauce to it, and steam the broccoli until its very soft, he'll gobble it up! So, I have started adding it to my homemeade macaroni and he absolutely loves it! I cut the broccoli up into very small chunks though because he throws out the pieces that are too big. Sometimes I even lightly puree it.
Also, my son is really weird about pasta. I have to use the pasta that comes in the Kraft macaroni box...he does not like the regular elbow macaroni pasta. He prefers the little skinny macaroni. Weird.
