Good luck!
I'm looking for an excellent gynecologist who is adept at treating menopausal women. My male doctor whom I've gone to for several years is totally unsympathetic re: my hot flashes. Basically, he just doesn't care that they're driving me crazy. I'm not taking anything for the problem at the moment and need to talk to someone with the patience/perseverance to figure out how to help me.

I know my response is late. If you haven't found a new doctor yet please at least interview mine! My doctor is the only doctor in north Texas who specializes in menopause (she is certified- I don't know the specific tiltle that goes with her specialization)& she is a wonderful person. He name is Dr. Maryann Prewitt & her office is on Old Shepherd Place off of Ohio in Plano. She is wonderful!
Believe it or not, Allen Birthing Center's midwives are fabulous at dealing with total women's care. They are wonderful, sympathetic, can be homeopathic if you like that, and deal with the full spectrum of women's needs.
I have not hit that stage in life yet but I LOVE my OBGYN. Kelly Watkins at presby plano. Go to www.farrowandwatkins.com for more info. She is really good.
I love my gynecologist. Her name is Keli Jones and she's at Plano Presby. Her number is ###-###-####
Hi S.!
Dr. Judith Hsu at North Texas OBGYN in Plano is amazing! She's on 15th Street between Coit and Independence right next to Medical Center of Plano. I really love her, and will continue to drive to her office no matter where we live (we moved to McKinney a year & a half ago) - I'll have no one else delivering my babies! :) She REALLY listens and makes me feel so comfortable speaking to her. She has also gone above and beyond (like calling from home to check up on me or coming to the hospital on a Saturday in her street clothes to visit after our little girl - our first baby - was born!) to make me and my husband feel like her ONLY patients!
I HIGHLY recommend her! Her number is: ###-###-####
Good Luck & Blessings!

I 2nd Denise L. - Dr Wood is awesome. She has been there an knows what menopause is like!
I will also add that before she put me on the Vivelle Dot Patch, I had been using the Wild Yam Cream or Progesterone Cream from Vitamin World - for years - never had a hot flash. Five yrs ago, Dr Wood performed a thermal ablation on me because of extremely heavy periods causing anemia. It was 100% successful, so no more periods. A yr and a half ago, at 55, Dr Wood had to do a FSH on me to confirm that I was indeed post-menopausal.
I encourage you to check her out - I'm sure you will love her! If you do call her office, ask specifically to see Dr Wood.
God Bless! D.
S., I love my gynecologist. Very caring and passionate lady named Katrina Walsh. I believe she has either recently moved her office or is in the process. Try these numbers ###-###-#### or ###-###-####.
I believe you. Those unexpected mini-summers can reallly get old fast!
I see Dr. Fawzia Nora Jaffee in Plano. She's just east of the Tollway on Parker. Very empathetic, and good!
Good luck!
I had a hysterectomy last year and my Dr. was Mary Ann Franken in Carrolton at Trinity Medical Center. She is wonderful, she will ask you how do you feel and what are your expectations. She will give you several options. I am 51 and use a patch, I tried to wean my self off but found that I was having night sweats and not sleeping. My patch is a low dose and I sleep wonderful. You won't be disappointed with her.

I highly recommend Dr. Jennifer Campbell - her office is part of Presbyterian in Plano! She and her staff are wonderful and very high quality as well!
Dr. Katrina Walsh is fantastic. She is at Plano Presby now. ###-###-####
Hi there, I too suffer from hot flashes and find that if you put more SOY into your diet this will help. I am trying not get into the hormone therapy. I drink cappacino soy milk that you can buy a Kroger in the organic section. (it is not in the mild section, it is boxed and you then get it home and refrigerate it)...Yummy. You can mix it with regular milk or drink it straight. I also love miso soup and eat this regularly before meals. (at the sushi dept. at Krogers) anything soy will help you. May not totally make your hotflashes go away, but it really does help. Take care ~ Kat
I have a great one for you at Frisco Baylor... Dr Kathryn Wood... ###-###-####. She doesn't do babies, only GYN. She is super nice and very caring. Her office is beautiful and its just makes for a very pleasant experience. She performed the NOVASURE procedure on me about 2 yrs ago, to help w/heavy bleeding. IT's been AMAZING ==
Good Luck to you.

HIGHLY recommend Dr. Katrina Walsh at Plano Presbyterian!! EXCELLENT OB/GYN!!! ###-###-####. :-)
Try Dr. Kathleen Varadi - she is at 15th and Coit near the hospital. She is in her mid fifties I am guessing.
I go to Ivan Rovner at North TX OB/GYN. He is the best (for me) in my opinion. He saved my life...
I had a complete hysterectomy in 2001 (best thing I ever did) and I have been on the vivelle dot since the day I left the hospital and I have never had an issue.
HOWEVER..there are 2 women Dr.'s at his office who are fantastic as well...Dr. Varadi and Dr. Hsu. I personaly saw Dr. Varadi when I was pregnant with my daughter 14 yrs ago. If Dr. Rovner were to retire or something, I would go to one of those 2 women.
Make sure you check out any Dr. as you well know. There is 1 Dr. on this list that I had a very bad experience with (more than once) and I left that Dr. in the midst of my pregnancy 15 yrs ago.
