I am looking for a new snow play area to take my kids for the weekend. We try to go every year. I'd like to try somewhere new. We have done Sequoia, Yosemite and Mammoth. Any ideas with lodging recommendations? We'd love to have a 2 bedroom place. thanks

What can I do next?

Wrightwood is even closer than Big Bear (under 2 hours, close to 1 hour from Glendale). Cute little downtown area, nice grocery store, and lots of houses for rent. We have used Park Place Realty http://mywrightwood.com/

Have fun wherever you go!

Snow Valley--near Lake Arrowhead. Try the Lake Arrowhead Resort!

Hi A.,

I own a cabin in Big Bear that is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath in Moonridge. It has a very large living room with a great fireplace and a 12-in-1 game table. Both bedrooms have queen size beds, and the living room has a queen-size sofa sleeper, and a full-size futon. The cabin is located less than a mile from both ski slopes and about 1/2 mile from the Moonridge Zoo which is a great place to take the kids!

We list the cabin through Cool Cabins and the cabin name is Bear Necessities. http://www.bigbearcoolcabins.com/bearneces.html

I will set up a special arrangement with Cool Cabins that any reservations made indicating Mamasource as the referral, there will be a special discount of $50 off per night!!!

Big Bear is located approximately 90 miles from LA.

I hope you will consider our cabin as your next snowy destination. Have fun!!!

Big Bear is 2-3 hours east of L.A. They have plenty of lodging accommodations, you can check on-line. Another option is Frazier Park (snow play only, no skiing), which is only 1 hour north of L.A. on the I-5 fwy and Wrightwood, 1 hour north-east on CA 138, but I'm not familiar with their accommodations but could be limited. Big Bear would be best bet.

Try the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. It takes you about a mile straight up into the mountains. We went sleding. It was fun.
