HI Moms. I'd love to find a great resource book for health issues, so I can get some answers without calling the pediatrician's office every other day. I'm really looking for a resource book of health issues, not one that deals with parenting styles or psychological issues. You know, things like fever, rashes, fractures, burns, etc. Any recommendations?

My favorite is the "perscription for nutritional healing" It would be good for the whole family and it covers everything. The great thing about it is that it is stuff you can do at home (drug free remedies) to treat ailments etc. It is written by James F. Balch, M.D. and Phyllis A. Ballach, C.N.C.

"Dr. Mom: A Guide to Baby and Child Care" is my "go-to" book for this type of thing. Here's a link to it on Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/DrMomBook

It's a great resource for exactly the types of situations you're talking about.

I found Baby 411 very helpful. It's the same author of Baby Bargains partnering with a pediatrician. They also have Toddler 411, but I haven't taken the time to purchase it yet.

God's Grace to you,

I have two books..."Taking Care Of Your Child" and "Take Care of Yourself". They have flowcharts that as you answer yes and no to questions about symptoms, it tells you what to do, and when to seek medical attention. My mom gave them to me when I had my first baby and they have been VERY helpful!

If you have regular access to the internet, one of the best sources is Web MD. you can look up specific topics or search by symptoms. This Website is developed by medical professionals and it is peer reviewed. I have found that is is reliable and easy to understand. There are a lot of websites that have inaccurate information, so consider the source and sponsor of the information.
