Have you been to Moonbounce Adventures? Oasis (in Glen Mills)?
We just moved to PA from the west coast and I'm desperate for some good places to take my 2 1/2 year old to burn some energy off!!!! The playgrounds that I have seen so far have been pretty plain.

I live in N. Wilm. and I know of a lot of people who come to DE for the parks.
There is Tally Day park on foulk Rd that has a great new library with lots of kids activities and a dog park. My 2/12 yr. old daughter loves it There is Bellvue State park w/ 2 playgrounds a mile walking path a catch and release pond and free lunctime concerts, and there is the Can Do playground at Augustine cut off off Foulk Rd that has a sand play area, and is brand new with tons of things for the kids. Both of those parks have an entrace fee or you can buy a park pass for the whole season.
Feel free to contact me if you want further info. good luck!

I grew up going there, now we take our girls probably at least 1x per month. There is a huge playground that uses an honor system of $1 per visit to help keep it up. They have tons of birds, goats, pigs, horses, peacocks, ducks, etc that you can feed. You can get corn from machines for a quarter or run into the store to buy a bag of dried corn or lettuce depending on the season for $1 to feed them. They have a store w/ a bakery so you can pick up a cookie before or after. There are picnic tables outside if you want to bring your own.
They do hayrides for picking your own "fruit", hayrides just for fun, fruit festivals on a Saturday each month which are really crowded but fun. At Fall, it becomes "Pumpkinland" and there are hayrides to the Nice Witch's House (our annual fall tradition) where they get cookies & then come back to roast a marshmallow & drink cider.
This is easily one of our fave places to go, it is cheap most of the time (unless we walk into the bakery hungry in which case we walk out w/ a pie).
I am new to the area also. We moved here from NW IN. The place I love to take my 2 year old is Longwood Gardens. I don't know where you live in Boothwyn but I think you are about 30 min. from LWG. It is huge and you can go there even if it rains because they have a conservatory. There is also an indoor childrens garden with a lot of interactive water features. In the winter time it is great because it is warm in the conservatory. There is also an outdoor childrens garden. LWG has been a great place that my son can run around because there is so much green space. Go there once and if you like it before you leave buy the season pass. They also have a lot of childrens activities during the summer. Most of them are included in your admission. They have a wonderful story time that run from Sept. to the end of May. Besides the childrens gardens there are 3 tree houses that are fun to explore. If you are curios about LWG just go to their website. You can google it. Have a great time if you go there. We are there once or twice a week.
I'm not sure where you live in Boothwyn. There is a great playground next to the Rachel Kohl Library which is next to the Garnet Valley School on Smithbridge Road.
