Looking for a good OBGYN. When I first became pregnant with my son I went to an OB GYN that was great then my insurance changed and had to change. Can't find her now since she's moved from The Women's Center (Her name was M. last name unsure) and the dr I ended up with wasn't so great. I've only been on 1 annual since my son was born 6 years ago and she wasn't so great either. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and don't want to wait until the last minute and have to take the first one I can find. Needing help finding a good one in North Austin or if you know the Dr I'm talking about. I would like to have at least one appointment with the dr before I do get pregnant.

What can I do next?

M. -

There is a great OB/GYN in NW Austin who's name is spelled in an unusual way which I can't recall at the moment - something like Dr. Christina Sebestyn (sounds like Sebastian). Several of my own patients have been very pleased with her for a variety of reasons.

I go to M. Irvin at the Round Rock Medical Center (this may be who you were talking about previously). She is just fantastic! All three of the women in the group practice, Ann Baylor and Stephanie Michel, are great, too. If this is the group that does not accept your insurance, try someone in the Renaissance Women's group. I've heard very positive things about their practice, as well. They even have classes for your other children to help prepare them for the little one on the way :) Congrats, and good luck!

Hi M., It has been 24 years, but Dr. John Maxwell who was with The Womens Center (on James Casey, but they had a north Austin location too I believe) was my OBGYN. I liked him alot. Whether he is still around and in practice I don't know for sure, but I would recommend him.
Best Wishes to you. K.

I think you are talking about M. Irvin, she is great. I have been going to her for at least 6 years.

Dr. Robert Cowan with Austin Area OB/GYN is FANTASTIC. I have been going to him for nearly 8 years and he delivered my daughter and will also be delivering our second baby that is on the way. His bed side manner is the best and his staff is amazing. ###-###-####.

My OB is Laurette Smith at Renaissance Women's Group and she's just fine for me. But recently I had Dr. Jahangiri deliver my baby girl and she was great. I have several friends who have different doctors at this office and they are happy with their doctors. NAMC where you would be delivering your baby is pretty nice too. At least I've had a wonderful experience at that hospital delivering my two children. You might want to check it out.

Hi,

Have you considered going to a midwife? Research has shown time and time again that midwives have better outcomes than OB's. If you are interested or want to ask questions feel free to.
