You may want to try the beach at the bottom of St. Anns st. in Laguna Beach. That is where all the locals go. Small cove and nice. I have lived here at the beaches for 55 years and it has gotten more dirty.
Good Luck,
J.
Summer is coming, and I wanna take my son to the beach during weekend. But Huntington Beach has strong current, Newport Beach is the same and not quite clean, Corona Del Mar is too crowded (not like that 10 years ago). Is there any secret beach in Orance County that haven't heard in the news and suitable for todler? I'm looking for just a little section of the beach that have calm water, a little bit of wave, but not too strong to knock my son down, family friendly and clean.

Hi, A., i live about 10 minutes from Laguna Beach and i love it. They have a special place for little ones to play, its away from the water, but still in walking distance to the water. The play area sits on sand and there is a bathroom right in front of it, which is great, for the kids.
Have fun! : )
Hi A., I am new to the area, well 2 years new, but I take my son to the coves at Laguna. He still gets freaked out by the waves, but there are nice tidepools for the kids to pay at.
To get there (coming from LB), go down PCH once you hit the residential area, take a right on the residential streets and walk down to the beach. it's street parking (no meters) so you may have to look around.
my sense of direction is horrible, so if you need better directions let me know.
Sunset Beach and Seal Beach (I grew up there)are not too busy but you still have the ocean waves. A little further North in Long Beach (off of PCH and Westminster), there is an inlet called Mother's Beach. During the week it's really quiet. Because the ocean diverts here, you have more of the bay waves...perfect for children to play in. You could even go a little further down 2nd street and have the Bay which has small sand areas close to the water.
Good luck and have a great summer!
