Hi, I am seriously considering going back to school for a master's degree. I will need a lot of help preparing for the GRE. I graduated from college in '94 and have not worked in 6 years. To say my math is shaky is a major understatement!
Has anyone had a good experience with GRE prep in the Plano or North Dallas area? Affordable is important too!

How ironic. I graduated from college in 94 and am also considering going to graduate school. I need to take the GRE as well and my math skill are weak to say the least!
I'm not sure what your budget is but there are two different places that I know of that have GRE Prep classes.

Unfortunately both are expensive, in my opinion. But the only other option is to go to Half Priced Books and locate a few books on GRE test prep. I've heard, believe it or not, that the GRE For Dummies book is actually quite good.

I wanted to mention something I haven't seen in the responses yet. I got my master's degree in English in 2003, and when I took the GRE, my college wasn't interested in my math scores, only my vocab scores. So, depending on your major, the math may count little or none at all. I suggest you call an advisor or admissions officer at the prospective college and ask what scores you need ON EACH SECTION for admission. Good luck!!!

I work at an University. I'm sending the link that I tell our students to go to, I know you can just put your zip code in and it'll tell you sites. Call the sites and see what they have for prep classes. Also, check with the colleges/universities around you.

Lastly, I have more students tell me that the VERBAL is the worse; there are words that you'll never use and probably haven't heard of.

Try www.powerscore.com. They have classes in the DFW metroplex. I used them and they were definitely convenient.
