Hi Heather,
There are some cute things at www.uncommongoods.com. Like, a kama sutra weekend kit (and other kama sutra stuff), a board game called "strip cholocate", "love tokens" and other things like that. Have fun!
Hello,
I am looking for gift ideas. I am going to a personal wedding shower and need gift ideas to fill a nice basket for the bride to be. She had a regular shower last week and got the basics like towels, flatware, dishes, ect. This is a shower for her to get goodies for her and to make her blush a bit. Ha! Ha! I would really appreciate any ideas you might have for romantic items to put in the basket or any items to spice up the years to come! Get creative ladies because I need your help!!!!
I received so many GREAT ideas!!!! I ended up going with the the different color candle basket with the really cute poem. Everyone at the shower loved the idea and it turned out very cute! My sister and M. ended up using some of the other ideas to make really cute baskets. We all had a great time and the very shy bride to be turned red only a few times! LOL! Thanks for all the wonderful ideas! You guys are soooo creative!

I have found that the best gift to give that makes people blush and they will definitely use it is a Kama Sutra book. I always send my hubby to go buy it. He is such a good sport!
Well since EVERYTHING makes me blush this is a much more pg idea but i got the sweetest gift from my maid of honor.
she filled a basket with candles and then framed this lovely little poem telling me what they were all for
here's the poem:
a basket of candles that come in a pai
in all different colors, for you two to share
the white ones burn first
they are wrapped in white lace
to celebrate your first married night
in your new choosen place
the green pair are taller, and also much thinner
burn with the first company you have over for dinner
the dark blue candles are for after your first fight
use them to burn while making up all night
pink candles set the mood and pave the way
for your first married valentines day
now when your first year of marriage is through
the cream anniversary pair will light for you two
red candles aflame both your futures are bright
celebrate promotions you've worked towards with all of your might
by this time we hope maybe just maybe
you can light the purple ones on the birth of your baby
and just when you thought you'd put these away
take the light blue ones out for your fifth anniversary day
now just one more pair left for the big 25
the anniversary pair that will keep your love alive.
good luck gift hunting
Hershey's chocolate syrup and Redi-whip, new K.Y jelly for her and him, bubble bath, candles for around the tub, bottle of wine or sparkling juice and wine glasses (if they didn't already get some) and it sounds like the perfect basket to me.
Have fun!!

Hi Heather, The most romantic thing for her to wear on her wedding night would be , A bow for her hair and candle light. Several votive and a couple of pillar candles of the saame scent and pretty holders for them will go great with any decor. Best wwishes for the bride and groom. D
It might be embarrassing at first, but go to an x-rated shop. They will have a lot of "interesting" things that you will not be interested in, but they have some really nice "wedding night kits" They usually have some flavored lubes/massage oils and things like that. Use it as a date night out with the hubby. You can joke(or at least blush together) about the really weird stuff, but you just might find some treats to spice up your marriage;)
Also, pure romance parties are sooo much fun and they really do sell great products. I've only been to one, but they sell stuff in the privacy of your own home and you are with girlfriends so you can giggle at the embarrassing stuff.
oh! and, if you can knit, go to knitty.com and make the lace candy thong! it's like edible panties but super easy to make, just look for it in the archives. it's in the "sex and the knitty" archives.
Hi, Heather, Have you ever heard of Pure Romance? It's a company that sells relationship-enhancing products and educates women about their sexuality. They(We) do home parties for women only, but you can go ____@____.com to see the products or order them--you don't have to have a party. We have bath and body products with pheromones to enhance the mood, massage products, edible powders and lotions, tasteful lingerie, novelty items, and bedroom toys. We have been around for 15 years and are the biggest and fastest-growing home party plan out there, and we all love what we do because we see on a daily basis what a difference we make in women's lives. These are products of the highest quality, and you don't have to ask any awkward questions of some clerk with a nose ring in a novelty store.
PS Whipped cream and chocolate syrup sounds great, but they will give you a yeast infection. Sugar is NOT recommended for "down below"!
Look up a company called fantasy lady. I'll bet you'll get some ideas there. T. M.
Scented candles definately. A soft heady scent. And the massage oils are great. Bath and Body has some great scents.
Nice smelling lotions, bubble bath, sexy gown or pajamas, candles, nail polish, shear robe, cologne or perfume, bath sponge.
Hi Heather!
There are a lot of good ideas here! I just want to say that I would definitely add candles to whatever else you put in there. Candlelight just sets a romantic mood. You can get aroma therapy candles(or massage oils like the one lady suggested)in "sensual" scents.
It's nice that you're putting so much thought into it. I'm sure she's going to love it!
You could check out Ambiance, the Store for Lovers for toys and games :) The ladies are VERY professional and understand that most people are going to need help looking for something and understanding what it is that they've found! I had to pick up something there, and it was actually quite painless :)
For my shower, I got a watergun in the shape of a males body part...if you know what I mean LOL Although she would blush, I wouldn't recommend that. I have no clue what to do with it. he he he.
They did something cute. Each person in the shower took a body part...hands, feet, head, face, chest, etc. Then each person would get gifts that went with the body part. You could do a mini basket using the same theme, but do it yourself...one thing per body part.
Heather,
Put in a bottle of sprakling cider or champagne and strawberries. Also, a nitemask, or blindfold and a book called ohhh, I can't remember, but it's like 365 secret love things. The couple takes turns pulling out surprises from the book. It's by Laura somebody. The bookstore will know.
Waterbeds and stuff has all kinds of funny cute couple things sure to make her blush. They have dice that have different things on them that you have to do with what you roll. :O )
I just picked up some stuff for a bachelorette party.
Good luck.
A Little about me:
I am a 37 SAHM of 4 and a pt dj. Married to my high school sweetheart for 14 years.
I recommend just going to a novelty store and looking around. For my husband's Christmas stocking last year I bought a variety of things like massage oils, flavored lotions, and a couple of things I won't mention that we've had fun with......
One time for a friend's bridal shower I bought her a bikini made out of candy necklaces. She loved it! It was super cute and it's one size fits all since it's stretchy just like a candy necklace. They're expensive, like $20 per piece, but well worth it, and you can always ask the cashier if they have any samples of lotions and oils for you to try. I got about 6 samples when I went in there, so that would help fill the basket a little for you if you spend money on the bikini
Buy her some "honeymoon undies" - they even make edible ones, massage oils, candles, etc. Personal items for the morning after are good ideas, too.
If she's not very experienced or open about her body, you might want to pick up an educational book, all the things you want to know about sex but didn't want to ask.
Flavored lube will definitely make her blush. If she's diabetic or sugar-conscious, Hustler has a few flavors of sugar-free/sugar-low lube.
chocolate, strawberries, etc.
go to the book store, and find one of those, things only women understand books, or what every women should know books!
aspirin,
tools! she'll need a set in the kitchen for when hubby's not around!
a bunch of frozen dinner to! she'll not have the energy to cook until the honeymoon is over! lol
Chocolates, anything silky, a couple of feathers, a blindfold. You could make dice out of thick-card-stock type paper, and on one of the die, on each face, write "Kiss" or "caress" or "touch"...then on the other one write a body part.
Hi Julie,
What if you did something like fill the basket with romance for one night in the bubble bath. Put a bottle of champagne or sparkling cider, floating candles, a CD with romantic music, or better yet, things like Marvin Gayes "Let's Get in On" (that would be kind of funny and entertaining), bath oil and bubbles, a really soft sponge or textured scrubby, little candies to feed each other and so on. They have lots of Kama Sutra type books at places like Barne's and Noble's. You could throw a little one of those in. They even come in pocket size so it will better fit in the basket.
This could be lots of fun to make. Hope you have fun!

Here's a tradition my M. does. 2 wine glasses, a bottle of sparkling juice or wine, massage lotions or oils, foot scrub, and chocolate from a local favor. We have found most people liked Watkins peppermint foot scrub the best.
aside from going to a novelty store ( you know in the back room ) or a "book store"
You could do something like, two bottles of wine, wine opener, carafe, glasses, towel, crackers, and cheese... a basket with all the fixins for the beginning of the evening and leave the finishing parts to the other guests.
Massage oils are always great. I love lotions and candles. At Spencers or ambience or a store like that they sell things like edible panties for him and her, chocolate body paints, bath crayons, and other fun things. You may want to check out those stores. Lingerie or bath robes is always a nice addition. I actually have gotten rose petals at the craft store that you would use for a wedding but you can put them on the bed or add them to a bubble bath. You may even want to put in coupons for spa pacakges, hotels, even local restaurants. There is all kinds of things you can do with this. Good luck and have fun with it.
Hi Heather,
longeree, thongs, pretty colored bras.
Maybe some shower gel, body spray, & lotion.
If you are brave enough, shop at an adult store. Lots of items to make a girl blush there.
Good luck & have fun at ths shower.

Go to a novelty store. They have tons of stuff at places like that. You don't have to get the really embarrassing stuff. They have lots of different kinds of lotions, lubes and massage oils. If you don't want to go into a store, you can probably order some stuff online. Or, if you aren't into the naughty stuff, you can get a Kama Sutra book and some regular massage oils. I think you can get that stuff just about anywhere. Have fun! The party sounds like a blast!
A basket filled with a combination of personalized robes (maybe with the initial of her new last name), slippers, wine glasses, bottle of wine, lingerie, lotions & potions, and satin sheets. :) Hope this helps ya!
