Does anyone know of a place to go see a christmas lights display? I am from Maryland originally and back home we had places we could drive through and see christmas light displays but can seem to locate one here in Texas other than Galveston which is 6 hours from me.

What can I do next?

There is a neighborhood in Mesquite that goes all out. Check www.guidelive.com to see if you can find a listing.

The best one I know about is Gaylord Texan resort. They will have tons and tons of ice sculpture, lights, carolers, everything! Plus it's indoors. Maybe check out their website, I plan on going Christmas eve.

I know of two places that are both very nice. PLANO, TX go to the Deerfield comunity. It is on Legacy Rd. between Coit and Preston. They are nice homes and most homes and trees are covered in lights. They even offer a carriage ride through the neighbor hood. Legacy Church witch is on the corner of Coit and Legacy is where you get on for the carriage. The other community is in MCKINNEY,TX. It is in the Eldorado community. We went there last night with my 20mo daughter. She enjoyed it. They have themed streets. Very cute disney street with large cut outs of the characters. They have signs at the beginings of the streets to keep you moving in the tour direction. Hope you have fun.

The Deerfield neighborhood in Plano (Coit and Legacy) has had a wonderful display for years. If you want to get out of the car, go down to HIghland Park Village (Dallas at Preston and Mockingbird) shopping center. I believe there you can get a horse and buggy ride through the surrounding neighborhood--full of big mansions with great light displays. Have fun!

The community of Deerfield in Plano has almost the entire neighborhood lit up. It is probably the most impressive I have seen in the area. Deerfield is located off Legacy Drive, between Coit and the tollway. Happy Holidays!
