Are you firm on a female doctor? If not, message me and I can give you the name of my doctor. It was my decission on whether or not I wanted another c-section (pregnant now with number 2) and his office staff, along with him, is wonderful!
I am trying to prepare for baby #2 & am looking for a female OB/GYN who will do a VBAC. I live out in Weatherford (25 miles West of Fort Worth) & am looking for a doc close to home if possible. A doctor in Fort Worth would be fine. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Also, how do I increase my chances of having a VBAC? Thanks in advance for any responses!
Thanks for the responses! Like what some people have said, going with a midwife increases the chances of having a successful VBAC. Does this mean that I would have to see a midwife for all prenatal & postnatal appointments? Would I be delivering at a birthing center or can I still deliver in a hospital? Also, I'm still looking for a good doctor/midwife who believes in VBACs in/near Fort Worth. Any more suggestions/recommendations on that? Thanks, again!

Dr. McAlpine at Baylor sw in Ft. Worth did my VBAC. He isn't the best listener, but he helped me get prego after fertility issues, and was all for the vbac. It went soooooo smoothly! Not sure about ways to help the chances of having a vbac, as I had a healthy pregnancy, and and no issues. It just happened. :)
Oh, and I grew up in Weatherford. :)
If it is a possibility in your region you will increase your chances for a VBAC manyfold by choosing a midwife as your care provider for your pregnancy and birth. You don't even have to have a homebirth or birth center. Even if you want to be in a hospital, going with a midwife puts you at less risk for intervention.
Another factor for having a successful VBAC is to not get induced or augment labor with pitocin and going without pain medication.
I second checking out ICAN.
Good luck!
